Test pitboss

Played and repaused for classical hero...

Uh... not quite sure what just happened. I was Alt-Tabbing in and out of the game while doing other things, and then the last time I noticed I'd been logged out of the game and converted to AI. I didn't select "Retire" in the menu. What happened?

Luckily I think I'd finished all my moves so it didn't affect anything... still weird though.

Possible there is a keyboard shortcut for retire, and you hit it accidentally?

Maybe. Don't know what it is though.

Ah, that would explain it then.

I seem to be blocked out of the game. Not sure if my internet's having problems or if the trouble is at the server end. Anyone else having troubles?

In any event, if someone is able to log in, please pause the game. I'm off to bed and won't be able to log in until the morning (which will be after the turn flip). Rather important to be playing every turn at this point, especially with almost everyone in the world now teamed up against me. :p

FYI Dave, the Sirius game seems to be having the same problem.

I got in with no problem and paused the game. There's another game I play where this happens and a restart sometimes works if the problem is on my side.

If you happen to get this post in time, give it a shot.

Still having the same problem this morning. Maybe it's the home connection that's the problem... I'll try logging in from another connection later on.

As far as I understood it, once half the time (i.e. 12hrs) is gone, then it's fair game to move. It's better though for that reason if the more active (i.e. more free time) player moves in the first half of the turn.

That's my understanding as well. With what Irgy said, I would not object to Elkad opening the turns from this point forward. However, if CH is the last to finish the turn and completes both turns consecutively, that's fine too (though unlikely, as it appears LP has recently forgotten how to actually end a turn...  ) As long as parties at war communicate via in-game or here, we should avoid any hurt feelings.

...it appears LP has recently forgotten how to actually end a turn...
Look who's talking. :p

It's not intentional... the trouble is I often get suddenly called away for work at random times. I can't exactly say "wait a minute, I have to finish a turn in this game I'm playing". I have to go and finish off later. Maybe I'm too pedantic about checking my cities every turn, but then from what I understand you're much the same. ;)

I'm heading away in a few hours, and will be staying with my parents on Saturday. Technically they have internet so it shouldn't be a problem, but historically it has usually proved to be an awful connection. So just a heads up anyway - hopefully it won't be a problem, but if I don't appear before the end of next turn (1600 AD), please pause the game. I'll be back early on Sunday, so it should be a few hours of delay at most. :)

Fingers crossed it won't be an issue, of course. ;)

I wouldn't mind slowing down the timer for the holidays either. I can manage either way though.
