Test pitboss

I'm around, just *tried* to log in and unpause...
Except I finally remebered to change my password back from the one the sub was using (when I logged in to pause), and I must have screwed it up, because now none of my passwords work.

So I need to be temporarily kicked to AI myself.

Sorry :(

Irgy, Dave may be able to make the switch without making you lose a turn to AI.

Thanks for trying. :)

Nice -- I found out via experiment that you can change the pw of a civ by pausing before kicking to AI, and the AI does not take over and mess up a turn for the player. Though I also found out that if the target civ has diplomatic messages, the pause technique has some sticky points.

Hopefully it will all be still working properly.

Thanks for that nabaxo. I'll play soon, hopefully Donovan can too.

What has happened to azza?
Hmm, he seems to have disappeared, doesn't he. He disappeared from the Sirius intra-team game around the same time too, and we never heard from him. He's certainly around, I've seen him on Gmail and Facebook every few days. Perhaps he's obsessed with Civ5 and forgotten about these games or something. Or perhaps he just got bored with them. Who knows. ;)

Got a chance to play. Thanks. :)

LP, you have about an hour left IIRC.
Ok, cheers.

How do you change the password? The thing in "your details" in the menu does nothing. Is quitting to AI the only way then?
It is, unfortunately. Just make sure you've played and finished your turn first, and there should be no issues/losses by switching to AI then immediately switching back. :)

What has happened to azza?

Well, I think it's pretty clear he's disappeared. I've talked 2metraninja into replacing him, as just turning him into an AI would disrupt things significantly.

We need DaveShack to be around to kick Azza to AI first though (preferably doing the pause trick to avoid the AI doing too many silly things, assuming they can sort out the timing).

Azza is still under human control. I am here to take it, but it needs to be kicked to AI.

I have paused the game and kicked Azza's civ. If we leave it paused until it's back in human control there won't be any (more) turns missed. Note, I'll take a wild guess that there are some diplo screens queued up, so we really need 2 of us to take control -- one to login and the other to unpause so the screens can be disposed.

Grant's been gone for almost a month now - over 20 turns. I can't believe no-one noticed before. He really needs to be set to AI right away, especially with BCLG now gobbling up his stagnant civ.

It's certainly abusive to let a civ lie stagnant for that long while a neighbour prepares to steal some free cities, free Workers, free XP, and potentially free Great Generals. I can't believe that the super-alliance honestly didn't notice this earlier and didn't keep quiet deliberately.

We set SilentConfusion to AI earlier. Set Grant to AI now, or else it's even more of an abusive move to war with him. (I'd argue that a 10-turn peace should be allowed for the AI to build some semblance of an army from the stagnation it's been left in, but I'm guessing that won't happen.)

I hadn't thought anything of it when I discovered it last week. I know that BCLG had a gpt deal with grant when he was still our ally, and didn't see the need to disrupt that deal. Now it appears he is just trading in the money for land.

This was not a plan of our alliance, and was never discussed. BCLG is acting on his own. I think it is fair to set Korea to AI, and would consider trying to convince BCLG of a 10-turn moratorium if I knew that our former ally wouldn't receive 10 turns of imperialist tech gifts in the interim. But...I am guessing that wouldn't happen either.

What does everyone else think?

Sounds fair to me. It is sad to see a player abandoning his nation, and even sadder they to just stay and do nothing.

I've known Grant has been gone for a while, and I honestly assumed everyone else was aware of it too. I frankly don't understand how so many people could notice Azza was missing and not have noticed Grant, who's actually been missing for longer. He stopped playing here at the same time he stopped playing the Sirius Intra-team game so I'm quite surprised you didn't notice earlier yourself Lord Parkin.

I didn't feel the need to raise the issue myself because I have a gpt deal with him, and leaving him as-is was actually quite close to the way things would be if he was still playing. Closer than turning him into an AI anyway. What would be better would be a replacement, but I'm not going to try and talk someone into taking over a civ with no real prospects.

With BCLG100 taking over his lands now, I personally agree it makes more sense to make Grant an AI. I was going to suggest that to BCLG100 myself but decided it was his business. I won't object either way though because I don't think it makes any difference at this stage.
