Ok....enough is enough! I don't mean to be a prick but here goes. This TET has been saying this mod will be ready "soon" for many months. It was supposed to come out before conquests...then all of a sudden conquests was announced and then he said he wanted to wait later so he could work some conquests stuff into it. Over the last month or so I've seen him say it'll be ready in a couple days. Ha ha, didn't happen. He will keep saying this, and then Civ IV will be announced and he will say he is going to wait until that comes out. I seriously doubt we will ever see this version 2.0. I'm personally sick all these broken promises. I know a bunch of people are gonna give me crap about this but oh well. Its about free speech right. Seriously TET, don't keep saying its coming soon when you know that its not. Either strap it on and get it done or just give it up. Sorry if this seems mean, thats not my intention. Later......

I'll just keep this short: if you think modmaking is easy while trying to balance a job and a life, then by all means you create a mod as big as this one in. And remember that you can still play the previous version of his mod.

i don't really mind it being late. big things take time. TET dosen't get paid to do this, he does this when he has time, and since conquests came out and it is many times better than PTW, Tet decided to update version 2.0. what is the big deal of waiting a bit longer?

Like all the best entertainers, Tet keeps you begging for it. If you weren't expecting great things I doubt you'd have worked yourself into such a lather over the fact that Tet has found it hard to complete his mod. As someone who wanted to do alot more with Civ3 modding, tried and gave it up as a bad joke, I'll make it quite clear that it is very tedious, very time consuming and not worth it.

Man that was a little unnecessary. I used to get real impatient with modders till I dove into a mod making scheme myself. My mod was supposed to be finished in December and then I said late January. Now I'm saying March. It's a lot tougher than I thought and Conquests is still getting patched right? That presents problems for modders as well as sometimes they mod labels and scripts and patches change those files sometimes. That's not including the other endless text files to fill or the game crashes. Getting the graphics in the right places and making sure everything works is very time consuming and tedious. All I have to say is if you think Tet is slow then try making the mod yourself. You won't feel so impatient then.

This goes for anytime you think about getting impatient, or spewing rude remarks at people who provide free services, or websites, or software, or whatever...

There seems to be a veritable epidemic of this sophmoric complaining crap going on concerning a lot of the mod boards. My favorite mod is TAM over at CDG Group, and we are often confronted with idiotic and uninformed newbie opinions. We welcome well thought out and reasoned opinions (many of us are experts on ancient and/or military history), and we have some lively and yes critical debates. But we are always respectful of divergent viewpoints, if it constructive and contributes to the debate. Theses constructive criticisms have served to continuosly improve our mod. Tet's mod is my second favorite after TAM. Both are difficult to bring about successfully becaus of the underlying buggy code that underpins Civ III. It is one of the most difficult games to successfully modify in recent memory. So here is what you do if you have a problem with the speed of completion. Sit down and try to modify it yourself first, and ten you will be in a better position to both criticize and contribute to the debate.

Alright, out of respect for TET so this doesn't become a flame board, let's forget all the stupid remarks previously said and continue to discuss the mod. I'm sure TET doesn't want to come home to sort through 100 new posts with nothing but arguments in them.
I know some people are getting impatient, but that's life. We can't bug TET every day for an update, nobody has that much time. I'm sure he'll let us know when he's made a breakthrough.

There was a time when I could put aside endless hours working on the mod. When I say I hope to get it done at a certain time it is an honest estimation. There are however things that happen that I have no choice but to prioritize over working on this mod. The biggest one these being Life.
I am sorry for the delay, I really am and I cant tell you the amount of pressure I feel to deliver to all of you who have been waiting for so long. All I can say as I always have is the wait will be worth it.
I understand Sportninjas frustration, but believe me this is all just as frustrating for me. I am a one man team, and if you ask any accomplished mod maker they will tell you simple changes can sometimes have a ripple effect that all of a sudden gives you 10 times more work- which has happened more times than I can remember.
I will deliver on my promise of 2.0 and on that none of you should have any doubt. Time is the only variable

i personally love your mod, it is the best of the best mods for civ3.
If the 2.0 version is as balanced and intresting as 1.93 it is worth waiting another few months. Although you could give up some minor details... how cool it will be ? [dance]
