TETurkhan Test of Time (Map & Mod)

World map-Historical. Even if I know the world, it's still tough to conquer and it feels like home.

Historical world, easy.

Though historical-with-just-starting positions is just as fun in its way, mere random maps simply do not compare.

world map:goodjob:

i like it mostly for just the world map, without the ruleset.
best world map i've seen yet.
but i actually don't like much of the mod's rules.
it does however provide a better base for me to mod my own rules from, rather than starting with the stock rules.
1.9 is what i'm talking about.
2.0? ...we'll see.

EDIT: typos

World Map!! :D

World Map - which you should release ASAP (surely it will be done ahead of the rest of the mod?).

What I meant to say is, World Map with cities or without. It matters not, as long as your world map is there. It's my favorite.

Yes you are right Kitty, the world map is ready now. The world map used by the mod is El Mencey's but one that has been modified by me. I may post now sooner than the mod. Let me think about it - maybe I will post both mine (256 by 256) along with the edited version of El Mencey's (362 by 362) together.

how did you figure the silk trade route? Ive seen so many different maps that show the route but most of them have extra routes running here and there, while other sont. Doesnt it run to india? In your mod that came with the later ptw versions you dont have it running through india.

World map, defenetly. Do you have a map tool? Do you think it would be possible to edit the existing map to crop out the americas? Ive tried downloading some but the programs require alot of time to download for lowly dial-up connections. This way i can play a hectic eastern continent game faster than a huge 362x362 or 256x256(which isnt all that of a problem) game.

As it is i cant even download your mod becasue i would be here for a day waiting for it to finish downloading, while it may be worth it i cant devote that much time. I hope this mod is included into the future conquests versions so that i can actually play it.:goodjob: :)

I love your world map! I enjoy playing the starting locations only version to let the world empires build differently everytime I play.

World Map (with Cities) I love kicking both the celts' and Vikings' butts out of the Brish Isles, later taking the Viking cities and after that I love invading Germany followed by France. (which would be easier if you added the Netherlands or/and the Danes )

I don't see how could you play the Mod in a random map,
for example, England can't build settlers while American civs can.

Yeahh we want Denmark in this mod... It would be a one-city state but what the hack...
You could always give then Norway, and then rename scandinavia to Sweden...

With Multiple Start Points you are going to find a larger selection of Civs. Start points take place through out history in every age. Each time there is a start point, cities have been reassigned, and Civs have been added or removed in order to keep it historically correct. For example, you can't play the Americans in the beginning (ancient age) however you can play them later from the 2nd last start point onwards. Did that make sense? :D
Same goes with the Babylonians, they are there in the ancient era but not afterwards.

Why you might ask?

1. Each start point enables me to reset everything and put it back in line with history.

2. It enables me to have far more playable Civs, since some are dropped and others added.

3. It enables players to not always have to start in the ancient era but any time period they wish.

Cool. Love the mod; waiting patiently for 2.0. Better to release it correctly rather than quickly.

So from that last post, I'm assuming that when you say you have more than 31 civs, that's true, but you never have more than 31 concurrently? Makes sense, and the ability to start in various eras sounds like a great one. No wonder it's taking so long. It's not just one mod, it's a series of mods under one name.

One thing I wanted to mention... After I reformatted my hard drive, I installed Civ 3 and C3C, and then downloaded your complete mod and installed it, but it wouldn't run in PTW. It couldn't find all the files. I took Civ out and installed Civ3, then PTW from the disc from the original expansion, and then C3C, and your mod worked fine. It just didn't seem to like the version of PTW that came on Conquests. Probably not a big deal this close to having the C3C-specific version of your mod ready to go, especially since there's an easy work-around (if you have the other disc, of course), but I figured I'd mention it. Anyone else have this problem?
