Te, do you think that enableing the retain culture if a city is capture option to be "accurate"?

This seems right to me. It gives the feeling of a city having "surrounding territory" and make a lot of sense. If Baghdad is captured by Americans, it's still Baghdad, correct? ;)
Sounds correct to me.

Questions & Answers:

1. The Map is now on a 362 by 362. It is El Mencey's Map with modifications done by me.

2. Yes, there is a different BIQ for each start point. It is not that difficult to create as some of you think. What I really like about this approach is that any of you can add a start point wherever you choose in history. As long as it is accurate and up to high standards we can add them to the collection of starting points.

3. Downloads for just the maps will be available. I realize some of you do not wish to download the mod but only the map. Still, I will not post the download until 2.0 is ready.

4. Super-Mod Talk. Talk of a super mod DyP meets Test of Time has been discussed again. Both mods though have separate and unique appeal to them. There is however an attempt to integrate some aspects of DyP into Test of Time. This is no small feat, but it is up for consideration.

5. Time Frame. Aside from Test of Time I have at least 5 scenarios I am working on. Is it too much - yep. Problem is I refuse to let any of them go, instead I have put together some of the top people here online to assist. When completed, they IMO will be amongst the best, most dynamic, creative scenarios ever done for Civ. I am still looking for animation people, people who have experience with creating mods etc. Interested? Then just drop me an email.

That’s it for now ;)

Sneak Peek at one of our scenarios - I wasn't going to do this but just this one picture won't hurt - especially to such loyal fans like you guys! ;) BTW-most of the artwork you see here was not created by me but aaglo, snoopy and UtahJazz and this is only tip of the iceburg of what these talented people can do.

Wow, i might just get DSL just to download your mod.

Are you going to include another silk route to El Mecenys 362x362?

Im not quite clear on this multipe start thing, are different maps going to be used throughout one game?, or different civs?

Hi immortals!

All start points all take place on the same map, using the same tech tree, units (for the most part) etc.

Start points do 2 things:

1. Enables players to choose a time in history to start playing from. No longer do you have to start at the beginning of time, but instead one of the many start points that are offered.

2. Some Civs will replace others, some city's name will change as well as ownership, and all the changes will be done in accordance with history.

Hope that clear it up!

So you can start as the Americans in the industrial era without a prerequesite civ? When you say some civ will replace others, is that when they are conquered? or do say the Russins just replace the Goths(though they arent in the game, or are they?)Porque lets give the Goths a chance if they can establish an Empire that can last a great deal of time. This sounds cool though, you might be setting an example and a standard for other moders to follow.

so the US can actually form? the chinese and india won't become world superpowers? Europe wont be extreemly crowded? people wont run to siberia for pointless cities?

I think I'm one of the few that actually follows what TET is talking about. Each set of starting points has it's own biq to play on. Each biq will use the same map, tech trees etc. What will be different is the leaders, civs, and units. Depending on which biq you play on. Modern civs will not be on the biqs that start in the beginning of the tech tree as ancient civs won't be around for biqs that are in later tch trees. It's more simple than it sounds guys. It basically is 5 seperate mods that will play the same, but have different civs and starting dates.
I was planning something like this for my own mod, but it got to be to much for me. I can't wait to try out this mod and see how it works. I might still go back later and do the same for my mod. I wasn't even sure it could be done, but if anyone can do it you can, TET.

BTW: Test of Time is the first mod I played on Civ3. :goodjob:

very nice:goodjob:

I forgot to mention that crater. What LM terrain did you use for that? I could use a giant crater for my mod.

Hello all,

I'm a longtime civ 2 player new to civ 3. I'm intersted in setting up the 1.93 version of test of time with my conquests/gold version of civ 3. However, the self extraction programs don't seem to work as the folder placement has apparently changed since TeTurkhan made the updating files. Anyone know how to update to 1.93 while running conquests?

Thanks in advance

Oh, so there is more than one biq...now it sounds clear. Otherwise, a 32th civ is automatically deleted.
BTW, I think that the starting age is related to the tech tree only. A civ that starts in Medieval age will begin in 4000BC like all the others

Basically the biq will share the scenario folder which will have allthe graphix for ecery diferent biq and the text files will be extensive to include everything for every biq. Each biq will be adjusted for each starting time period. In theory it would work. Like I said I haven't tested, I backed out. If TET has it working then yippee, I will use it later for myself in modding! ;)
