No Methos & no Soul entries for COTM 14??

I've found that I have gotten so used to playing with other people that solo games just aren't as fun as they used to be. I don't believe I've played a solo game since the Internation Friendly #4 competition here in the forums. And it's been a while before that.

I need to get back to playing the XOTM games, or at least a few solo games. I believe my skills on this game have gotten a lot better. Though I still need improvement. :)

Congrats on the COTM14 score Bede... Like I expected you got a better score than I did.... beating me by a good 400 points and 50 years.
Wow leopalas getting a launch in 1345?? Damn thats fast... I think I will try for another Space in 15... Tho domination is tempting in Pangea.... I have not even opened the save tho....

No Methos & no Soul entries for COTM 14??

Thanks. You did well, too.

The key to an early launch date is to push the commerce and research hard once Literature and Education are known. Minimal military, just enough to ensure that you can acquire the needed resources, though often that is not needed either as the other guys will happpily sell you everything you need if you have the cash.

Headed for space in COTM15 but then had to change plans and ended with a very slow domination win after nuking the opponents. Got really really mad after a sneak attack destroyed the Apollo Program.

i need another day to get to this.
will try to squeeze it in tomorrow before work, or after it.
definitely in 24 hours.
(or die trying... Igor's is killing all my brain cells... 2 turns and 3 hours. 3 turns left  )

pre turn - 1824 - buy an updated persian territory map for 1g. wake up lots of troops sleeping, better used as troops than as cops. persia still has just 1 iron. with 4 arties staring at it.
will declare after the IBT.

IBT- kporea wants a MPP, ROP and that we add 8gpt to the deal.
the koreans pop some settlers into that cleared area.

1- Ur bomber > bomber, Ninveh inf > inf, NYC airport > bomber, Thermos factory > artie, Corinth inf > inf, Agade bomber > bomber, Eulbar inf > inf,
ok this is tediuos. prior inf builds are repeated as are bomber ones.
Bremen police > factory, Zamoa court > lib (for culture), Vegas inf > transport, Pheonix flak > flak,
4 pollution hits. clear 2 on plain, 2 on mountains still remain.
i demand Fascism from XMan, no? YES!!! declare.
i lose 2 cavs and take Hamburg.
get Cologne for 1 cav.
move piles on troops to get rid of the western part, and get ready for the main attack.
ohh, and steal Fascism from Persia. 2nd try. cost 5600. no lost spy.

IBT- korea boots us out. Ottomans want to renew our RoP. no need.
a galleon is sunk as is a persia frigate.

2- Isin cruiser > cruiser, Minneapolis artie > court,
5 polluted squares.
Konigsberg isnt taken yet. lose 2 rambos and a grunt, 4 red cavs. it still has one wounded inf.
Dariush Kabir is a clean kill.
more troops arrive.

IBT- Ottomans join Persias trade embago VS us. which ends just as quick. so XMan declares on the Ottomans. good.
DARN, a cav slips through taking Denver.

3- start building some offensive navy, a few destroyers, etc.
retake Denver, losing 1 inf+1cav, pop down to 10 from 13.
get a rioting town. the folks dont like this war.
gordium is bombed into an inch of thier life, taken without loss and razed.
Ergili suffers the same fate costing us a grunt.
Hannover is taken and kept.
some settlers are squeezed out so we can fill the new lands without having to quell resistors.
it also help having a nomans land. avoids Denver Incidents from happening

evened out the turns, and i think i played 5. not sure...

northern persia is in better shape, with a nice pile of bombers and artie working thier magic.
south has enough troops, but scattered abit.

Got it.

Xerxes will regret Denver and that he was ever spawned.

The demise of Persia:

There are artillery, bombers, infantry and cavalry on the west coast of Korea. One group north with a settler and another group on an airfield on the little spit of land.

The troops on the east coast got booted to Iri when the Koreans built a little town right next to them.

The homeland armies are laagered up on groups in the east towards Korea (artillery, cavalry, reg(?) infantry, veteran infantry, and cavalry. I put some airfields in the plains in old Persia and there is another airfield at Iri on the east coast of Korea.

Hammi's settler transport showed up within range of the bombers on the west coast of Korea, so I killed him.

namliaM - go get some Koreans
Methos - Ottomans for you

To get all the "Auto bombings" out of your way...

They are set for near all surrounding Korean cities, but there is some manual bombing left to do...

The first turn I declared war took for ever.... Once i waited for what seemed for ever...

Them Koreans want it really bad somehow, cause they keep returning. This is what it looks like now:

No real turn log. Just produced a mountain of units and bombers. Killed some Koreans... Oh and we are at war with Ottomans too.

Ze Zave

Guess I should post a 'Got it' since I've already started playing. I'm currently about three turns it but they're taking a while.

Korea doesn't seem to be showing much, if any, resistance. Our troops are just walking in and razing cities. The only place they are actively assaulting is the location namliaM already indicated.

Am I assuming right that the primary reason that location is being attacked is because it is a settlement? If that is the case I'm tempted to use the settler as a lure. Not for sure exactly how yet.

I managed to make some time today but honestly will not be able to play the rest of my turnset until Wednesday. If that's okay I'll finish then. If not say the word and I'll upload my current save.
