GPS to classical

Spoiler :
Turn 7 (-3700) – Scout finds water to the west – looks like a continents map maybe? Scout also meets classical_hero’s conscript warrior. My scout in the north sees a light green border – gbno1fan is nearby. Classical_hero obviously has warrior code (starting tech), but it appears he has not popped anything (except his warrior). I am up Alphabet. I have so much food in my start (if I can settle it first) – lots of flood plains including 2 flood plains wheat.

Message sent to classical_hero:

Your turn.

And we have already met in game - as you will see, my scout has come across your conscript warrior. I don't think there are any good trades available for us right now, but I think our expansionist civs could work together to get a very quick start and leave our rivals behind. I will tell you that I have only my starting techs so far, and I am currently researching the Wheel (the obvious choice for Hittites).

If you think our civs can work together (via peace deals, preferential tech trades, etc.) let me know what you have in mind.

Chamnix of the Hittites.

GPS :)

Spoiler :
I'll be roading the red marked tiles the coming 5 turns. Orca's 'r us will grow in 2 turns and Pottery will be learned around 4 to 5 turns. With a granary ready quickly after. The worker will then cross the river and irrigate the cows.

Turn 8 has begun!

GPS - to Gbno1fan.

Spoiler lurkers only :

—Turn 8 --

Update:
I've now finished my irrigation, giving me a very useful plains tile, 2 food, 2 shields, and 2 gold (thanks to road and river).
My worker will now move on to road the furs, and be ready shortly after my culture expands in 3 turns.

My warrior climed the hill, and viewed a big desert to my south, yuck. I'm also thinking I may see a glimpse of some coast line at the extreme east of my view by the mountains.

Here's a screenshot...

Stay tuned for more from Babylon!

Got it and sent it on its way...

Spoiler :
Turn 8 (-3650) – If Classical_Hero popped one of the huts that he claimed were “all his” then it doesn’t look like he got a tech. I decide to pop my huts first – next turn I will circle back and introduce myself to gbno1fan. I pop Ceremonial Burial – woo-hoo! I change CatontheHat to warrior – with all the food I see now, expansion could be very fast, and with nearby neighbors and raging barbs, I need a unit or two, so I will have to make do with just 2 scouts.

Some F11 analysis: I am second in population, but nobody has reached size 2 yet. My GNP is at 5 – 1st place. If I move my citizen to make my GNP 4, then I drop to 5th, so most players have a GNP of 5. Manufactured goods, I am 1st with 3. If I drop to 2, then I am still 1st. If I drop to 1, then I am 6th – that’s bizarre – one player is running at 1 spt (working wheat or something?), 5 at 2 spt, and I am the only one with 3 spt :D. My military service is 5th – that means there are 2 other players who have not built a warrior yet :hmm:.

Great spoilers here.

@ CH, interesting advisors you have there :groucho:

GPS. Also I notice that players are not following PBEM ettiquette in the naming of the Saves. Please remember that to distinquish between the saves that you go like this. The prefix for the game, then the turn number and then your turn letter. IE. my current save will be MIAPBEM2_008e. Please keep this format if you are not.
Spoiler lurkers only :
Not much happened this turn except that I got a city from a hut. I would have preferred a tech from it since the city is pretty close to Chamnix. ALso it is in a bad situation. Here is a picture of Ulundi.

I believe the format GW and I devised is a little more clear. I don't know what turn letter everybody is. Why don't we just keep using the system we are?

Well my point is that even if it is the common notation, I am more comfortable using what we are, and I will continue to. You are more than welcome to use whatever you want, but on my computer the saves will be saved the way they currently are.

:bump:
Talked with Rik just a moment ago - He hasn't received turn 8 yet.

Must have been missed somehow?
