Not a moment too soon, my book will be printed in the next couple of months...!

While the best thing about it almost is that i am paid (not much, of course, but i don't care) for it, it is also wonderful that the work there is among my better ones. The publishers did not wish to include any story already printed in magazines, so at least three stories they did like a lot there could not be in this book.

Its title likely will be The Abyss, after the title of the main story. Alternatively they may want to title it as the Landmine, which is what another story there is called, and in Greek the term for it (Narke) signifies not just a landmine but also the winter sleep that some creatures induce on themselves (eg bears).

Which of the two titles do you regard as better?

1) The Abyss (E Abyssos) Η Άβυσσος
2) The Landmine (E Narke) Η Νάρκη

Jack London had a book called People of the Abyss, and there's a film titled Into the Abyss.

I don't know of any books, or films, featuring "Landmine".

Now, whether you would want to be associated with other books featuring "Abyss" or would rather have a title with no such associations, is something I couldn't pass comment on.

Yes, i agree, that Abyss is hardly the most original name for an art-work. So i too would accept it being titled as Narke/Landmine. Maybe even wish it more.

;)

An issue with that though is that the Abyss is more of the epicenter of the book currently. Even its allusion-based foreword is a reference to a work by Plato mentioned in that story.
