The Ancient Mediterranean MOD (TAM)

Thanks, Thamis! :)

May I use old savings with the new 2.3 update?

I began a game with the goths and I just love this really ancient feeling with those vast forest in the north of Europe... and to be so alone, no neighbours... only barbs... (I chose it to be with 16 nations altogether)

How do I install the update? unzip it into the TAM folder in the Conquests/Conquests folder?

And as of the leaderheads: I have the Conquest 2.2 full version now, and in it there are Greek (two, in fact) and Persian (?) heads from orig. CIV...

You should be able to use old saves in the update.

Unzip the update in the CIV3\CONQUESTS\CONQUESTS folder (just as it states in the first post).

The original leaderheads are only found in the advisor screens, but not in the diplomacy screen. Making them for the advisor screens is a big mess...

Hi! :)
I played with 2.3 and it goes fine, I have two questions:

1.
Is the Fertile Crescent equal to the Small map version that is referred to in the Civilopedia as the second playable map as contrary to the large mediterranean? The large is beautiful but a bit slow for my machine as the game progresses (btw: what is considered to be slow as waiting time btw turns?)

2.
I played on the Crescent map with Minoans and won with Silk Road :) on Monarch level (played turns: 302).
Now, the Thaskent part that needs horses could be built in ONLY ONE of my cities, that was on the north and most east. All my cities had horses with road connection...
Why is that?

Because Tashkent no longer only requires horses. Check the updated civilopedia (I think I forgot to supply it in the update, but it's in the full version).

I don't know what slow is. For me it's over two minutes per turn. I guess others are more patient. The Fertile Crescent is the most playable map IMHO. It's very balanced, too.

UHh, I cannot download big stuff now :(

Can I (and those who only updated) know what were the changes from 2.2 to 2.3? Yes, I am curious about Tashkent... :) among others...

Is there a smaller version of the large mediterranean map, or that is the Fertile then (once and for all)?

I hope I am not too pushy with my questionongs...

Hi, I am new to this mod. I am playing as the Persians, CONQUESTS VERSION, but one game I built the unique improvement "Leadership" but could only build one leader then in the building que the option to build another leader was no longer there??
I started another game and built it in the founding city, but could not build one leader?
Am I missing something here or is this a bug?
Thanks so much .... jb.

I really enjoy playing the mod, and am now doing a mod of my own. It includes some mediterranean civs, and I would be very grateful if you would let me use your city names and civilopedia entries.

In return, you can use any of my 3D animated leaderheads for any of your projects - the preview thread is here:

Great Mod-the best I've ever seen. The idea you got with the different region names was truely brillant-truly. Anyhow I may want to use your blank Med map you gave us for a Peloponnesian War map. Question but. if I change some of the races without going into the PediIcon file and the INI names will the game crash? I tried and it crashed on me in other games so I'm sort of confused.

This is sooo good.

Also I want to add change the resource Icons to like Attica, Thessely, Melos, Corcya, etc where and how do I get the Icons? Sorry for double post

Glad you like it.

In order to change the civilizations you can do just about all you want as long as you don't modify the Civilopedia entry link in the editor. Then you don't have to touch any INIs.

In order to change the labels, you need to go into RESOURCES.PCX in the TAM\ART folder. You can just create new resources in the editor and add new names to the list in the RESOURCES.PCX file.

Thanks for all your help but unfortionately it looks like I don't have Photoshop. I have Adobe Reader, Windows Paint, and Microsoft Office Picture Manager, but they don't seem to work. Also the images are the folder image and not the icons. Weird. I'm really bad at computers...

Thanks anyways. I don't think my scenrio really needs it while it would have been cool. :)
