The Ancient Mediterranean MOD (TAM)

Can somebody tell me how this was included in Civ3 gold? I have Civ3 gold, but I can't find this mod.

I don't know how or if it was included but you are better off downloading the mod for whichever version of civ3 you have. The one included with the game was missing a lot of the graphical stuff.

I've been playing this nice mod for a while now. Everything was OK until the Ancient Age has just finished. It's Hellenistic Age now and I'm having problems with technologies. Thing is that I can't trade them. I can get them only by myself (by researching). I can't buy them as there is no "Technologies" in the trade panel and I am SURE that AI has a few that I don't. I researched all of the Ancient Age's technologies. What do I do now?

CivReplay (MapStat) also says that none of the AI opponents have any tradable technologies.

You can also build the Great Library and get them through that ;)

An idea for the next incarnation: How about giving 'King' units the ability to speed up builds, enhance scientific research and create armies, as Leaders currently do? In games that are marked as Mass Regicide, it will give players the option to balance the creation of armies and wonders for vulnerability to being headhunted...

In reply to sword dancer....I would like to see King units given the ability to speed building, research or training. Most of the "kings" that the game has modelled as leaders were 'great' at one thing or another.... I don't know if it is possible, but they should make production or research more efficient.

I think that sword dancer was implying mass regicide and sacrificng a leader...is there a way to give a king speed abilities w/o sacrifice?

Is it normal that I can build railroad in 405 BC? My workers got that ability after researching imperialism :)

Just putting my 2 cents in, Great Mod, really enjoy the hard work you guys and gals put into it. I just have one concern/question. Barbs seem to ignore all civs but mine, my neighbor sends out settler with one warrior, they zig zag thru 5 stacks of huge amounts of barb swordsmen and settle between them, I approach within 2 squares and they hunt me down! Quite frustrating, I spend more time fighting/dealing with them than expanding my empire.(wah) Would that no ai patrol =1 in the ini file deal with this? And speed game up (Puh-leeeze)? Thanks for any input, lots of pages to go through on lots of mods!

Trust me, the AI has just as much trouble with barbarians as the human player does. The trick to dealing with them is to understand how they work. This thread should give you some insight... http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=100704

Adding NoAIPatrol=1 will speed the game up because the barbs won't be doing much. After the dire wolves are killed off, you will see some speed improvement. If you are playing the large mediterranean map, playing with less civs will also help.

Just redownloaded the scenario last night, installed, started playing today. Get through a few hundred years, then "missing entry in "Conquests\TAM 2.5\text\PediaIcons.txt ANIMNAME_PRTO_Hypaspist - Game will now exit!

There is no ANIMNAME_PRTO_Hypaspist that belongs in the pediaicons.txt file. It sounds like something is corrupted with your installation. Try reinstalling from the download you have and see if that works. If not, download again and avoid using so called 'download managers'. You may have to start a new game as well.

Thanks Watorrey for the earlier reply. Did the barb fix, things going much better, saw barbs sacking cities near mine. Great Stuff! Have over 18 hours in current game now (time from civ-replay) and just got error message,
"File not found"
"Art\Units\Fire Catapult\Fire Catapult.INI"
Select mission type
Is this also a corrupted file? Would a redownload help? Hate to waste this game. Anyone have any ideas? Could I just find a fire catapult from another mod and copy/ paste?? Thanks!!

Alright, so I'm using this MOD as it appears in the Civ: Complete version. Is this the most modern version of it?

If so, I have a few quick questions. In the civilopedia, there are no descriptions for any of the buildings/wonders specifically designed for this MOD. Is this as it is supposed to be, and the way to find these descriptions is by referring to the spreadsheet on the corresponding site?

Secondly, for some reason there is a bug in the 'Complete' version of this MOD specifically related to the Mediterranean map version. Right from the onset, I can only choose the civilizations that have had their leaders unchanged in any way. If I choose any others, I'm immediately thrown out of the game. Any thoughts on how to deal with this?

Thanks in advance,

~Jaden~
