We Geers are the stuff of legends. Math and Science are all well and good, but building something useful out of it can be rather difficult. Add that to the fact that we have to be up on our Math and Sciences anyway, and you'll have your answer.

Plus we have Rowan Atkinson :p
 
Software is a form of mathematics.

It is far more akin to a product of engineering than of mathematics, if you set aside manipulations of binary numbers.

Okay, pencil and paper, for those of you moaning about pens.

Tools, no matter how simple, are the purview of the engineer.
 
ID, if you are going to claim the pen for the engineers, I see no reason to not claim binary manipulations for me and my buddies.

Science, duh. Mathematicians just come up with the tools scientists use to find the truth. And Engineers simply use mathematics to design cool things, but not necessarily to learn more about the truth in them.
 
I don't think either Mathematicians nor Engineers specifically seek the truth, whereas it is the sole aim of the Scientist to do exactly that.
