I would go with artillery if it wre available, but I voted for cavalry since I thought it was the best on the list.

Nothing to add.

The immortal is the most powerful AA unit.

The tank is a gamebreaker though

It looks like in this moment most of the people believe Cavalry, Immortal or Tank the best units. So best units are considered the ones that have an impact on the game and are used for the longest period of time. And all of the units considered best in this moment are attack units (of course).

Mainly, in my rare conquest wars, I use a 20+ artillery stack with 20-30 cavs, behind a 5-10 infantry defense, and it is enough for me to take any city. As artillery are not there, I must go with cavs.

I chose bombers cuz they were on the list and 2nd most important but THE most important unit I would not be able to turn the tide of a game without is the Infantry.

Nah way. Swordsman definately, they have saved my butt hundreds of times early on in the game when im being mobbed by loads of horsemen, warriors and archers from some other pestering neighbouring civilisation. Few swordsmen go out and slaughter the lot. They are the first general unit with real attacking power. The opposite to that is the Hoplite. With these you dont have to worry about losing cities in an early war until something better than the swordsman comes along!

It is missing an option for a very strong type of unit: Catapults\Cannons\Artillery!!!

I really find Sipai to be extremly good and are at the moment my favorate unit (with a civilization with the civ-specialites I want)

Umm Longbowman costs 40 shileds while Knight costs 70. So they are at no point even. Longbownam + Pikemen 70 shileds equals Knight and if paired they have same stats 4 att and 3 def. Only movement counts for knights and the fact they can be upgraded later while Longbowmen have to be disbanded thus wasting production. So i never build Longbowman, just upgrade existing Bowmans and fast try to make them usefull (dead maybe too :P) while still at reasonable att vs deff. As foe units i love Spearman but its not listed - upgrades all the way so it never becomes obsolete :P And besides till industrial age comes I can crash my Iron road with some unit and build Spearman at 20 shields maybe for 3-4 turns in every city and have defence for the rest of the game :P
I thought longbow could upgrade to guerrilas.

They can, but you are better with MDI, they cost 40 and have 2 def. Anyway, if you have iron, you should have any archers, so...

But you can't upgrade workers!!! ;)
If non-military unit count, it is certainly settler (exception: OCC)

Actually, if you build a proper SOD, your LBM/MDI shouldn't be getting attacked anyway. When your stack is attacked, though, the LBM will fire a shot at the attackers. A good SOD would have trebuchets though... :hmm:

Worker - Artillery

Worker lasts the entire game

Artillery because the AI can't use it and you can.
Actually, they don't use properly both workers and artillery, so...
