The California Civ and Mod Project

Yeah, that dirty dusty deserty region down there that needs to be made into more of a desert. The more i look at it, the more I can see where it needs to be changed.

PS, I think your sig is a too long Garret. you might want to check it again. I think the limit is 8 lines of normal text. your's might be just a bit over that.

I know I've said I would try to get the Civ out this week, but I unfourtunately have become rather ill, and unable to work on it. I'll get to it as soon as I can thpugh.

I'm feeling a lot better, and got the flag done, I just need to get the Californiano button done, and then it should be good to go.

or not, because I am trying to make a serious mod. Leland Stanford and Earl Warren are the best leaders for the mod IMHO, because they were both very important, and they represent very different times in the states history.

I think it should be arnold schwarzeneger :crazyeye:

Haha. One of the great artists could be the Red Hot Chili Peppers. They've written the most songs about California. ^_^

Looks like a good mod. Will have to download it. :D

No chance, though, of replacing one of the leaders with Emperor Norton? He could be Industrious, Creative, and favour Emancipation. ;)

One suggestion, though, based on the screenshots: Have you tried turning the Flag into a hanging one? It would preserve the proportions of the flag better.

haha Emperor Norton. I forgot about him.

no, I hadn't tried makeing a hanging flag. I might have to try that next time out.

mmk. So I really want to get to work on the scenario, but I'm waiting on the map. The probblem with that, is that I can't seem to find a single map which shows agricultureal and other resources, so if anybody knows where I can find one, then please let me know.

GRRRRRRRRRR.... finding the kind of maps I need is imposible. I could BS it, but that wouldn't be right. I need something acurate. In the meantime, I'm trying to think out the soundtrack for it. If you have any ideas for songs, then let me know.

California Dreaming, by the Mamas and the Papas? Californication, by the Red Hot Chilli Peppers? :p

Or are you looking for something a bit more instrumental?

I had both of those in mind, along with hotel california by The Eagles, along with the version by the gypsy kings.I need some doors, and I'm gonna have California love by 2pac.

have resources been added to the map yet, cuz i'd like to help out working on it?

no, I'm having trouble finding information on where the resources should be. I really can't do much untill that part is compleated.

ok, here's some quick ideas on where resources might be located (before i start editing the map itself) ...
1)easy one is wine country in sonoma and other places
2)central valley (that I've driven through and know firsthand) with cows, cows, and more cows...
for the metal resouces i've started just searching on google for "[metal] mines california"... i think adding a temperary overlay of the major freeways (as railways with markers) to assist in correct placement of resources

if i decided to get really crazy on this, I could go over to the college of natural resources here at Cal and look at maps that they have...they might even get it on it (however, i gotta graduate first, i wouldn't do that till the summer)

really, If you could scan some of those maps, and send them to me, I that would be great. If they have not only just the locations of mines, but what type they are too, that would be extremely helpful, because I was hoping to mod in a few new resources, mostly agricultural, to reflect on the different regions. As far as the Central Valley goes, I live here(not for long though, but that depends on me graduating too, So I might take a full on break from this for the next month or two.;)) so I Know alot about how it should be.

Map, it looks like you beat me here. Ignore the comment in the other thread.
