The Capo's LH Gallery and Self-Help Thread!

What was named after him was the Nehru jacket, I believe.

If you do make Jinnah... I can just picture his diplomacy text: "You are a bad man, [CT_NAME], a very, very bad man!"

Wow, that's a huge improvement, amazing what those minor cheek changes did to the leaderheads appearance. It looks like you might be able to get some similar effects by very slightly elongating his chin.

I was thinking about altering his chin, but I'd rather see the animations before doing that. He is based on Caesar, so I am limited to those animations, I don't want to start doing my own anims just yet either.

LOL, yeah, if I did that it would be for a Pakistan module, so it would be a while before that happens. And yes it is the jacket initially (it has like a long skirt thing, so you wouldn't really be able to see it) but they started making shirts with the same collar, I think I'm going to keep this shirt on him because it looks pretty good right now and I don't want to screw with it just yet. I'm going to elongate his chin a little like Phungus suggested and then I'll try to get an in-game shot out soon. :goodjob:

My God, you're right about your Nehru Placeholder looking like Jinnah!

Here is an in-game shot, it is using Caesar's animations though, which I intend on changing. He still looks like Caesar a lot, I think if I smoothed out his jawline a bit more it would look better. It's hard to tell from this image but you can see through part of the back of his collar, I remember that being easy to fix though, but I just can't remember how to do it so if somebody knows that would be helpful. I think it looks pretty decent so far though, hopefully after I fix up his jawline a bit and change the animations it will look even better. What do you guys think?

The options for other animations are Alexander, Montezuma, and Saladin. I think I should go with Saladin because I don't think any of the other custom LHs in my mod use his animations.

Yeah, it looks really good. Also I don't think he looks like Ceasar at all, the cheeks + chin changes really make a big difference there. Saladin would be a good choice for anims as well, since the animations can also bend the model a little, any contortions you get from Saladin will likely be in the direction you want anyway.

This is a noob question, I know, but when I change the animations I just rename the files from saladin... to Julius_caesar.... right? And I keep the original julius_caesar.kfm or do I bring the Saladin.kfm over and rename that?

Disregard my last post. Well the Saladin animations didn't work out too well, he holds his shoulders too high and it looks strange, also the fact that I don't have the inside of his collar textured is much more apparent. I'll try Montezuma next, I think Alexander might be be the best bet though, the only problem with that is I already have a couple of LHs using his animations and I'd like to avoid it if I can, but I think he'll wind up being the best option. :(

EDIT: the other reason I want to avoid it is because I made the LH without making sure his back looks good, so I'd have to go back and do some more work, although that shouldn't be too difficult. Actually another reason I shouldn't use Alexander is because Nehru's flower would get covered up (Alexander crosses his arms), so hopefully Monty's work well.

EDIT: Ignore the spoiler, I was typing that while you posted your previous post.

I don't have much to say except that I do have some experience playing around with LH animations, and if you change animations, even if it "works", it may not necessarily align properly, so you'll have to fix the nif again to get it to work right. That's the bad thing about animations. The good thing is, as you probably figured out, you can often give the LH an entirely new "look"/"personality", just by changing the animations.

Spoiler :
Alright, so you have Julius Caesar, and you want to change his animations to Saladin's.

First remove these Julius Caesar files and make sure it is these, do not remove the other ones (I know it says augustus caesar, but you should get the idea):

augustus_caesar_action_01_negative
augustus_caesar_action_02_affirmative
augustus_caesar_greeting
augustus_caesar_idle_01_friendly
augustus_caesar_idle_02_pleased
augustus_caesar_idle_03_cautious
augustus_caesar_idle_04_annoyed
augustus_caesar_idle_05_furious

Afterwards, copy over the Saladin files, but only the ones that also have the same ending as the files you deleted (i.e., "Saladin_idle_01_Friendly, Saladin_idle_02_Pleased, etc. etc. etc).

Then rename those Saladin files to Julius_Caesar_idle_01_Friendly, Julius_Ceasar_idle_02_Pleased, and so forth, or however those kfm files were originally named.

Make sure you only replace those select files, because if you replace the other ones, then the LH won't move - or worse.

(Also, I'm surprised you didn't know this previously... ah well, not that bad)

Hope that helps or makes sense.

Also, just in case you didn't know before, you can change the animations and see the effects in game without having to reload the game.

Well, I'm not totally happy with Montezuma's either. :(

His mouth looks odd, he curls his lip up and you can see a lot of his gums which looks funny on Nehru, and his shoulders are kinda screwed up too. What I plan on doing now is trying out Alexander's, what I can do is maybe use Alexander's greeting and maybe one or two of his other animations along with Caesar's and see if that looks bad or not. Here is an image of Nehru with Monty's animations.

The MAIN reason I don't want to use Caesar's animations (besides the obvious fact that he's based on Caesar so it looks a little more unique with different animations) is that salute he does at the begining.

All you have to do is use another animation of Ceasar's as the greeting.

Or skeleton swap him to use another animation.

I'd like to get my first round of new LHs out before I start getting into more complicated things. While I am pretty sure I have everything down as far as these guys go, I have spent a good amount of time away from making them and I am clearly rusty, so I'd rather stick to doing them like this for now until I move on to something more complicated. I could always go back and improve upon these, but I'd rather get familiarized with making them before trying skeleton swaps and things like that.

So I have Solomon, Dido and Nehru. I wanted to put four out at once so I'll let you guys decide, in a very disorganized way, who the fourth will be. The options are Cetshwayo, Nasser, Cartimandua, Ptolemy, Clovis, and Lalibela.

There are a couple of there I'd prefer to work on next, but I'll let you guys decide, because it doesn't matter much to me, I won't be done until they're all done anyway. Plus I told Tony "Garret Sidzaka" Kiehl that I'd make an LH for him when I was on ModCast, so I'll be making LHs for a while.

Thta's a whole lot of interesting choices. Hmm. I'd take either Ptolemy or Clovis... eh... I vote Clovis. :)
