Hey, it is a most interesting and unusual point you have raised here.
I must say, though I am totally addict to Civ3 as many people here, that sometimes I fall to the "Civ3 blues" too.
What everybody said here is very true: try changing something in your game to add some spice to it -be it playing scenarios, tournaments, even changing game. It does work.
But... wait... what if someday you still felt the blues?
Well. Then there is the extreme solution:
quit playing for a while
Why, yes, it sounds very much like heresy to me too.
But then, how much time are we spending on Civ3? Deep in my heart, I know that the answer for me is just "(way) too much"...
Even now that I am writing this, I am but playing Civ3 in a more subtle way. The fact that I am writing from the office, during my lunch break, simply testifies to the severity of my addiction.
So, whenever I feel the blues, I almost take it with some relief and try to seize the opportunity to let my PC rest and, when I am finished working, try one of the following:
- Meet some friends
- Meet some
girlfriends
- Go trekking
- Sleep (why not, from time to time...)
- Take a shower (see above)
- Eat (same as above)
- Read a book (NO! Not the Civ3 manual!)
- Any other crazy thing that come to my mind
Happy CIVving everybody!
