Hi,

I'd like to sign up as a newb. I guess I'll have to read the forums before asking (hopefully) interesting question. My first (stupid) question would be : are there any plans to have some kind of "summary" of the ongoing discussion from time to time, so that people that are away for a while for any reason, or that are completely new aren't too lost ?
 
Hello, I would like to sign up as a new player. It's strange being new to something when you are 55.
 
I've been lurking for a few days and join just so I could be apart of the demogame, so put me down as a New person

Inside of the Civ3 Demogame there were summaries after each set of turns were played. The newspapers also summarized what was going on inside of the demogame pretty well. So yes, there are plans.

Well, you are suppose to sign up in the citizen registry. So if you haven't, then I recommend doing so. However, if you don't, I doubt anyone will notice.
 
What's ISDG mean? I've searched on it abit and couldn't find out what it stands for. My best guess is inter site democracy game.. which doesn't make sense much while at times it does makes sense :x I hope i'm making sense.

Anyways, just wondering what ISDG stands for...

Your guess is correct. There have been two ISDGs, one on PTW and one on C3C. Teams from multiple sites play a competitive PBEM. Within each site's team, the organization can be whatever that team wants.

We also have a MTDG (multi team democracy game) here on CFC. Here is a link to the Civ3 MTDG.

Some people get lititigous (sp? file lawsuits) if you try to be an elected or appointed official and are not signed up in the registry. We also do polls like the constitution ratifications as public polls and compare voters to the citizen registry if the vote is close or the issue is contested.

The main usage is to establish the census prior to the game starting, so we can require a certain percentage of the people to vote on an issue before the vote is considered valid. After the game starts we use actual numbers from the elections as the census.

So in short, what Strider said. ;)

I know that this isn't the right place but could someone please point in the direction of what to do/what is wrong, If in Civ 4 all the land is black all of it even what a unit is standing on. Also when I started the game and looked at FDR you could only see his eyes floating around the room. I would also like to sign up as a new player.

Okay, I'm thinking about putting together acouple of help threads. I would also like to add on to the FAQ. Basically, I'm asking everyone to help me come up with questions for them. It doesn't matter if you already know the answer to the question, just tell me what it is ;).

Questions could be: When does the demo-game start? What is the constitution? How is the game played? Things of the like...
