"The Core" Ads

Normally I don't complain about ads as I understand they keep the site up and running without me paying anything (I'm so cheap ) but is there any way to turn the sound off for the New "The Core" Advertisement and make it stay off? I'm trying to listen to a CD and everytime I read a new topic I hear

"A massive electrical storm!!...." and I turn the audio off, but as soon as I go to a new page BAM there it is on again. Is there any way to stop the sound (I don't actually mind the visual part of the ad)?

We have been having many issues with 'voice' ads. Before 'the core' there was 'Hunted'. I have t keep my speakers turned off to avoid unwanted noise from my system.

....until now!

I have just been bombarded by SIX (yes, SIX) 'Core' adverts in a row!

"A massive electrical storm!!...." is NOTHING compared to the storm that erupts from my mouth every time I hear this bit of noise pollution!

Is there a cure, apart from sitting in silence with the sound turned off?

A storm came from my mouth after hearing about 6 of these in a row. I just turned the sound off. Now, I can't listen to stuff.

I added the host it came from (mediamgr.ugo.com) to the "Restricted" list in IE where I have java and sounds and all manner of other nonsense disabled. The Core has been silent ever since

Yeah I was about to open up a thread about this one because these core ads drive me nuts!

The Hunted wasn't so bad because it didn't start right away, and didn't pop up every page. This one is loud, instant, and everywhere!

Funny. I've never seen/heard this ad. The only add I ever get lately is a Bosley hair-restoration ad... But it doesn't have any sounds, so I'm good .

Thunderfall has emailed Telefragged about that ad. Now we just have to wait and see if it has any effect.

This is funny. B/C i noticed this too. At first i thought i had some spy ware. But i guess I don't. I started getting suspicious when i noticed this only at CFC. I was going to make a thread to complain but i guess i forgot and someone took over for me. It gets pretty annoying when you listen to mp3's at the same time and you suddenly get an add for a movie such as the hunted or sometimes you just hear 3 distinct noises of some kind. A mini explosion or a crashing noise or something.

I browse CFC at work, so I dont' have access to network settings like restricting certain sites, I can't change my browser, and I have co-workers in the same room with me. This ad is extremely intrusive, annoying, and embarassing. I've never been so angry over a pop-up ad before. Please remove this as soon as absolutely possible and tell telefragged and whomever is responsible for this ad that it is extremely effective in doing just the opposite of what they intended. They need to hear from us very clearly that this type of thing is completely unacceptable!!
