I would never watch a movie with such a ridiculous premise, which is most likely devoid of any intellectual value whatsoever. And since I've been browsing this forum with the sound off since before the ad showed up, this past week when I had my sound turned up and heard the ad, it really cracked me up in light of all the criticism.
You say the ad campaign isn't successful, yet they've gotten us to talk about their stupid movie. Seems to me that it worked like a charm.

They just never get tired of making these stupid disaster movies... I bet my goelogy prof would have some choice words to say about the premise for this one.
Don't know why, but the ads at the bottom of the page have never made any noise for me. Marketing aside, I still wouldn't go see this movie. I have no clue how an ordinary person can look at a 15-second trailer and instantly tell that the movie is going to suck, yet high-paid hollywood execs can be blind to it.

It doesn't matter that the movie sucks, there are more than enough morons in this country who will see explosions and ELECTRICAL SUPERSTORMS on the trailers to think it's worth seeing, if only for the special effects. It appears that movies don't really have to be good anymore to be profitable, so Hollywood doesn't seem to have any problem making ridiculous movies like this.
I would never see the dang thing, because I almost never go to see movies. I've seen exactly 2 movies in theaters in the past 2 years (LOTR 1 and 2). About the ad thing on this site: I don't turn the sound on often, so I didn't even know about it till I read a post about it.

Wasn't there a P.T. Barnum quote to that effect? "Noone ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American people," or something like that. *sigh* so true...

I think this is correct.. I'll confess to having seen a few action movies that I went into with really low expectations, and wasn't dissapointed. Sometimes it is nice to watch a movie just for the fight scenes and car chases, never mind that the plot is being held together with scotch tape and bubble gum. (You can tell I'm a guy, just from that statement. ) Paying money to watch something like that is another story, but I guess many ppl don't mind.
Actually I probobly won't see it unless someone else pays for it and offers me free popcorn too. I love movie theatre popcorn more than I hate that add.
well i saw it last weekend.......i got 2 psters, teh book and a hat......all free! i dont know how they are making money at all....
the movie........lets say armaggedon the bruce willis movie, the book of jules verne journey to teh center of teh earth, and alfred hitchcocks the birds turned into one.......not a great movie.....but it has its good parts.
I refuse to see this ELECTICAL SUPERSTORMS horrible movie. Not even if DEVASTATING EARTHQUAKES they paid me would I see it. "The Core", I UNEXPLAINED NATURAL DISASTERS spit on you!
I probably wouldn't have in the first place, but after those damn Ads I WILL BOYCOTT THAT MOVIE!
I didn't even know what people were talking about at first when they were complaining about the ads because I usually browse at work where I mute my computer.
Then when I was at home browsing I learned, not only did I learn of the Ads but I learned to Hate! Never have I hated anything with such passion in my LIFE!
