'Tis done ...
Played a ten turn turnset:
Made peace with Washington and opened borders with Qin at the outset.
Most cities put a turn of
into a Rifleman, so when Assembly Line came we could immediately whip out some Infantry without the
'no invested' penalty.
I played it fairly safe - opted to wait a few turns before 'DoWing' Lincoln, and earlier brought back the troops on the boats to eventually join with the Guangzhou stack. We have taken Memphis (shrined Islamic Holy City) and Buffalo. We've got two stacks south of Los Angeles.
We spent some serious cash on naval upgrades when Combustion came in, which allowed us to pick off a number of Lincoln's Galleons, Frigates, and Ships of the Line once several of our own Frigates and Galleons were upgraded.
Popped two Great People; both Great Merchants. I used Alexander Mackenzie on a trade mission to Washington DC (1,900
used for the abovementioned naval upgrades) while Leif Erickson's unused and residing in Kish along with Homer, Rembrandt, and Euclid.
We whipped fairly heavily, as unhappiness was pretty problematic through Sid's Sushi pushing populations up and a host of negative modifiers (Emancipation, war weariness, motherland, cruel oppression, yada yada) meaning that four pop whips into Factories were unusually commonplace. Aside from adding a reasonable number of Infantry, many cities now have Factories and Coal Plants. Our Corporations are fully spread, while there's a couple of Executives still needed for Buffalo (Mining Inc.'s Exec' is near Buffalo, while the Sid's Sushi one is being built in Guangzhou).
We defied an AP motion to hand Chengdu back to China. Fortunately the motion failed, as Washington voted "No", so we're not villains after all!
Tech-wise: Assembly Line > Combustion > Physics in 2 or 3 turns. No trades.
In terms of Espionage, it was all against us: we spotted a few Spies, but lost a Factory to sabotage. I was mindful that there's the option to steal Military Science from the Vox, but I did naught about it.
Shaka's still WHEOOHRN. Boudica's making some progress in her war against Washington, and has taken a couple of his cities in Kansas City and Detroit. Qin's also gone WHEOOHRN. As such, no bribes were available ('
Possession' game variant objective).
In terms of the roster ... as I understand it;
