what was for you the funniset thing in a game?
mine was in the game:max payne that in chapter3laying it bogard,there was a man watching tv and you could sneak past to him and if you shot the tv he was pretty angry or just shoot him in the head or the thing that you saw a man in his pants on the toilet.i loved to kill him with my steel pipe

It might sound disturbing, but its just a game.

Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn. That game was just hilarious. No "one funniest thing", but that game was a blast.

The Secret of Evermore (SNES), the only US-made game from SquareSoft, was great. Partly because it WAS American-made (ever laughed playing Final Fantasy?). I hear Earthbound was good, though I've never been played it.
I DO remember Nintendo Power Magazine including an ad for it, with some scratch-and-sniffs. I regret using them. I'll find it someday.

Funny games?

Try any of the old-school LucasArts adventure games. I especially recommend Day of the Tentacle (if you can find it and get it to run nowadays). Plus there's any of the Monkey Island series (4 of them) and Full Throttle (I hear they're making a sequel of this).

You haven't been to the Civ3 fora in a long time, huh GK? Dan has graced us with his presence for a while now. I believe there are more than 2 Firaxians here. More like 3 or 4.

Concerning Lucasfilm Games from back then, the funniest of them is probably Zak McKraken.
Such a hilarious story and so many reuseable quotes have not ever been in a game since.
I just love the old advantures from Lucasfilm, got most of them.
Loom, Indiana Jones 3 (Last Crusade), Indy 4 (Fate of Atlantis), Monkey Island 1+2, Zak McKraken; Oh yeah, those were the times!

Talking about funny:
How about Guybrush Threepwood and all the different spelling mistakes of that name in Monkey Island! And the great sword fighting sayings in M Island 1. And who could forget the most important item, the Rubber Chicken?!
Indy and Loom were a bit more on the serious side, though.
Zak McKraken is simply hilarious, remember the 3 headed squirrel in Seattle? Or the alien craft over the Bermuda triangle? Or the great horn to wake the bus driver? Or to annoy the bakery long enough to get a stone hard bread? Not to mention the girls on Mars! And so on...

Aaaah, yes.

good gravy..... last year i was playing No one lives forever i was in the called safecracker scene 1 i had a cross bow then the first enemy came around i shot him in the BUTT AND KILLED HIM THAT WAS THE MOST HILLARIOUS MOMENT IN GAMING!
