The Gamecube Thread

That would be cool, a CFC clan? Can't wait 'till the final version of warppipe comes out.

And I think the max number of consoles is four, since it's possible to have 16 players on co-op. I doubt we'll have that many people here interested though. ;)

You got one console, bring 3 friends. Cgannon has a console, he can bring 3 friends (now can you? ;))

And I can definatly bring 3 friends, or atleast 2 that I know are would be willing to play :)

Well in the manual it shows a diagram of a possible LAN party that has 8 GCs hooked up to 1 hub. So you can have 8 on a regular LAN, however on the Warp Pipe forum one of the mods mentioned that you can't have more than 2 GCs connected in the beta, but I'm not totally positive.

Either way I'm sure that they'll try to rectify that problem (if it exists) in the alpha, because that would be a big one. :)

@ Grey Fox: $62??? Are games about $50 there?

BTW I only have 2 controllers, so it doesn't matter how popular I am. ;) That would be me and a friend or my brother. And I don't know anyone else with a GC (there were only 3 or 4 of us at my old school out of 90, and so far I know no one else in my freshman class at my new high school).

I have a sister and two friends. I do know several others who have GCN but they rarely come over if ever. My school doesn't talk about video games much.

New Gamecube games cost about $71. :(
(Although, the swedish crown is pretty strong towards the dollar at the moment, compared to half a year or so, so you get more dollars per crown nowadays).

Well I already have the BBA from my limited time of playing PSO so all I would need now is the game... Anyway I think there was another site doing a similar thing too, don't have a link though. If it gets to the point where 4 seperate consoles can connect on the net, even if only 1 player per console, I'll go and grab a copy otherwise I'm waiting for a price drop.

Just wanted to let you know that WalMart is currently running an ad for a GameCube + Zelda game pack (all of the old system Zelda games formatted for the Cube -- except for "A Link to the Past" and the Gameboy Zelda games) for $80.00. The catch is that each location only has a handful of the systems with the packs.

It's a bait and switch advertising tactic. Still, $80 is a pretty good price for a GameCube, even w/out the games.

$80 is a great price. That's $20 under the normal price (IIRC) AND it has those games.

I wish that Warp Pipe board was a little faster, I still dont' know if my router supports it or not. :(

If I played, I would also need Router support for my D-Link.

BTW, this sort of thing isn't new. I know of two programs (XB connect and Xbox Tunnel) that a friend of mine uses to play Halo over the internet using the same principal as Warp Pipe (It tricks the Xbox into thinking it's a LAN game)

What kind of router do you have? From what I've read any router should work, I have the 4 port Linksys cable/dsl which has apparently been verified to work. Unless you have a really old router it should work. Maybe I'll go rent this tomorrow and give the online thing a whirl...

(#600 :king: )

I have a wireless DSL connection... so I'm very confused on how to do this...

Anyways, I just beat Star Cup on Mirror! That was hard, mirror affects the star cup ones the most I think. Sherbert Land needs to be basically relearned, Mushroom City got confusing with the streets, I kept powersliding early the wrong way in Yoshi's Circuit, but DK mountain was fine. Thus, I unlocked Boo and Petey Pirhana, although I wish it was Shy Guy, since Shy Guy rocks. :)

Only Special and *shudder* All-Cup Mirror left now...

Its a wireless Linksys and I think it has four regular ports in the back.

Speaking of Mario Kart, I can't beat Special Cup on 150cc. And even after that there is All Cup on 150cc. 150cc is just not for me, I love 100cc.

Aha! I beat Special Cup Mirror now. Actually somewhat easy, the rivals messed up or something so I got a ten point lead at Rainbow Road, meaning I was going to win even with an eigth. Well, at this point my cat came and wanted feeding and started distracting me, so I DID get eighth in Rainbow Road, but still beat it. ;)

@Cgannon64- I remember special cup 150cc *looks back at memories fondly* The Rainbow Road race there was one of the best I ever had. Whacked with a blue shell right before the finish line, but still pulled off a first. :)

I can't really help you in special cup though, since the shortcuts are all quite risky (except the boost in Wario Colloseum, but that hardly helps).

Well the boost in Wario Colleseum isn't even really a shortcut, since its so easy.

I just have trouble getting first, and always finish the cup in like 2nd or 3rd.
