The "I Got A New Game!" Thread

I've just reinstalled SC4 and Rush hour and yes, even after 5 years, it's still awesome

i agree...i still like the game after all these years...:)

Got Mirrors Edge today on ps3. Legging around on those rooftops is a right blast. I hear it's fairly short but so far it feels very replayable.

Its not really replayable. Once you finish the main story, going through it a second time is not nearly as much fun. Especially since now you're not just running for heck, but you know where to go.

Knowing where to go sounds pretty nice actually. Because it's so bloody annoying getting stuck in this game.
But i was more thinking about the DLC time trials and such, for replayabillity.

Colonization the remake :)

Oh also PANZERS: Phase One, actually a pretty kickass WW2 RTS I had never heard of before. :goodjob: :king:

Purchased the entire Brothers in Arms series from Steam when they did a deal a few weeks ago. First couple of games were good, but my heaven Hell's Highway is bloody heavy-handed with its story. Good gaming, well worth the purchase, and it seems to be going beyond the "I never wanted to be squad-leader" attempt at deep storytelling that the first game had - and so far is pulling it off. Just be nice to play sometimes and not have continuous cutscenes.

I found Rise of Nations and the Expansion online for ten bucks. Am a happy boy.

EE is, the first one (2001) was great, but Vista is ******** when it comes to older games... :(

EE2 is not too bad, but kinda graphics-intensive, if it starts heavy rain or snow it lags TERRIBLE. And light infantry, in a large group, kill about anything with a small combo of pikemen for horses and cannons for fortifications.

Overall I like EE and EE2 better than RoN, but I do play both.

The downside to RoN is it just feels so... small compared to EE.

Truly, compared to RoN, EE2 is much more epic. It's just, BIGGER... there's more things to do, more scenarios, more maps, etc.

Couldn't disagree more, it might be true EE2 is more beautiful to look at, but the gaming experience is horrible compared to RON

I know the combat and such can indeed be sad...

But 15 eras with allllllll those different units and all the different buildings is nice.

I also appreciate the building cap per territory and territory concept in it.

Because, in RoN with turbo resources, I could just build like 3 forts surrounded by stockades someplace and the enemy wouldn't stand a chance...

Technically, I got Civ IV: Complete but it's on layaway (not enough money at the moment) so I'll be getting it for my birthday (Sept 3). Yay!

I downloaded the HL2 mod NeoTokyo a few days ago and am loving it. It uses the pre-OrangeBox Source Engine, but the care taken in designing the maps, attention to detail and 100% custom models is beautiful! Nade spam is non-existant despite two classes having nades. Working as a team (or at least being aware of your surroundings and helping your nearby teamates) helps a lot and actually happens more often than in other FPS games. Player dependent.

I guess I'll try playing again at some point. I found it sluggish for some reason. I dunno if it was the maps being too big or the movement being too slow. I mean, I sort of liked it, but somehow I didn't keep playing past the first few days I had it.

I bought the Red Faction Guerilla preorder on steam and got RF1 and RF2. Havent even installed them yet, and probably wont have too much time to play for the next month.

Sluggish? Supports move slowly but that's about it for 'sluggish'.
