So as I was reading all these war/holy land threads I have come to one undebatable conclusion:

That whichever place that gets designated as a "holy land" will be internally screwed until God's 2nd coming(if you believe in that).

So I propose a solution of rotating the holy land to a different site every 10 years so the fighting will have to be at different places and not one place gets screwed for eternity. It would give the middle east a little peace and chance to develop. I think it sounds like a good plan.

Without the land being holy, the different beliefs will having nothing left to fight over.

I think it's great the "Holy Land" is where it is. When the oil dries up and droughts come maybe religion will dry up too as the whole area becomes rapidly depopulated. :)

You make it sound so easy. :)
I doubt you can find any other "holy" location that is THAT holy. And besides who will the OLD holy land belong to ? And the fighting will continue for the old holy land ...
Really there's no way around it ... we could give whole holy land to Japan ... or some other country that doesn't have deep ties with abrahamic religions.

Ehh just place it on Grenland or the moon. OR best on some rescourses like a uranium mine or oil Fields.

(My personal opinion.)
If you have nothing good to say - then don't speak instead of speaking insults and nonsenses.
(I'm tired of such people making fun of serious things.
If you don't believe in something - just leave it there - don't nessesarily mock it.
It's rude if not more.)

So what really is the point of this post?

I think the true idiots are the one who are willing to die, or worse to kill, for such BS.

(My neighbour's opinion) :D

The way i see it, religion will be the only thing left there when the oil runs out. What other person would want to travel in the middle of an empty desert just to get to some city or another...
But there would be no more fighting for it though. :)

@civ2: people nowadays afford to say many such things on online forums under the cover of anonymous names ...
Respecting traditions is not the best asset of this generation. Even though i don't believe in what christians/muslims/jews believe in i still respect them (or at least their clergy:D), their holy places and stuff .

*fails to respect religion*

OH NOES IM RUINED!

The world is better off without religon. A peice of dirt in the "holy land" is the same as a peice of dirt anywhere else. Its all nonsesne.

1. Israel is the only country out there basically WITHOUT oil.
2. Sorry for harsh words but I'm somewhat enraged by your misrespect.
Please think before speaking...
(I don't believe in aliens - but I don't start laughing at those who do - I only explain why I think it's nonsense. "Explain" whatever you want - but without obvious mocking. It's a BIG request from me.:D )

holy land?

there is NOTHING holy about land.
religion does NOT make land holy.

clergymen make land holy.

so i really dont mind making the holy lands go away elsewhere.
personally i believe that the same "holiness gauge" applies to the river ganges, stonehenge, or the incan temples.
same goes for old indian cemetaries (dont want to invoke the evil spirits there), or any other burial sites.

if we could just take the POLITICS out of FAITH an dRELIGION, we would be ok.

since its not going to happen....
load up and fire atwill :sniper:

Not true. Lebanon and Jordan don't have any oil neither. Yemen and Syria do have some, but really not much.

Worse for them.:D

You're totally WRONG!:D
The Land of Israel is holy REGARDLESS of politics and whether there is a state of Israel or not.
It was given its holiness directly by God and not by any definitions made by men.
Btw what's wrong with you?:D
(You seem to be somewhat disturbed, am I right? )

I suppose we should be grateful that the Holy Land is in a location that doesn't have alot of natural resource, neither of the minable kind, or in form of good agricultural land, hydro power, or even strategic location (most communication between Africa and Asia has been by ship for a very long time). It'd been even better if it had been in Antarctica or on Bafffin Island, but it's so easy to think of worse places to have it.
