President McCloud has announced that the Technantis Navy has been seperated from the Marine branch of the military and is now a seperate branch. Admiral Salvador Robinson has been given the honor of head admiral of the Technantis Navy. While the Technantis Navy contains few ships, the ships in the Technantis navy have some of the most advanced technology available in the nation of Technantis. The new technology that Technantis scientists have been working on has been confirmed to be a new battleship for the Technantis Navy. In the meantime, the Technantis Navy has been sent to intercept and destroy a Scaler naval force surrounding the northern coast of Selachima.

Election Update: Polls have indicated that A majority of voters are favoring the National Technantis party and the Anti-Atom party for the coming election. Voters have been undeterred by the statements of several Libertarians that the AA could pose a threat not only to national security but to the numerous Atomicpunkeria immigrants and travelers.

In other news, a AA convention was attacked earlier today. A lower class worker, possibly one who knows the victim of the recent attack, threw a molotov cocktail into the window of the building. The incident sparked a massive riot, in which several more buildings were looted or burned. Fifteen people were killed and dozens more were injured. The majority of casualties were people of Atomicpunkarian descent. The National Guard was dispatched to stop the riot.

Meanwhile, the newly born Technantis Navy clashed with a Scaler fleet around the port city of Deos (I made up a name for your city, if you don't mind, tailless ). The fleet was in danger of being destroyed in the conflict, but the T.N.S. Trifecta, a cruiser in command by the wily Rear Admiral Yumi Nasagi, bravely and rashly sped through the heart of the Scaler fleet, guns blazing. The tactic worked, as the rest of the fleet was able to pull back due to the major distraction. The defeat was turned into a tactical victory thanks to the efforts of Rear Admiral Nasagi. The Scaler fleet lost four battleships and three aircraft carriers along with seven other ships. The Technantis Navy only lost four ships, none of them battleships or carriers. Due to Nasagi's brilliant tactics at the Battle of Deos, President McCloud has promoted her to Admiral and has promised her command of the new super ship being built. Fleet Admiral Robinson has suggested that a more controlled officer be put in charge, but McCloud has state that "We'll need someone as liberal as her to command that ship. Traditional tactics will be innapropriate for it."

At that moment, one of McCloud's advisors rushed into his office. She told him that there have been reports of people falling sick in a small village in the north of Technantis. Selachiman exiles living in Technantis has confirmed that the "sickness" is highly contagious and theirs were the same symptoms as shown by their countrymen before they were mind-controlled and enslaved...

Atomicpunkeria sends flowers to those Atomicpunkerian families in grief from the recent attacks. The migrants shouldn't suffer for policies enacted by the government of their home country.
Citizens are leaving their bunkers now and resuming normal civilian life as it seems that Atomicpunkeria hadn't fired at all. It appeared such launches were only enacted by a simulation that somehow got out of hand and exaggerated by all parties.

The Scaler nukes aimed at Atomicpunkeria in reality were destroyed by the old Steampunkerian Anti-Missile Defences that somehow had survived the transfer. The main reason these defences worked was because of the addition of modern RADAR to the sites.

Only a few missiles got through and destroyed several small towns and destroyed most of the city of Shalebridge, where the HQ of Peacebringer Lasers was located. Laser weapon production will be down severely for several months until the company can re-organise and rebuild.
The computer responsible for the false launches, called SKYNET was unplugged, his reel-to-reel tape drives removed and the vacuum tubes dismantled and left in a crate in a massive warehouse.

With the Scalers sending fleets out across the world, Atomicpunkeria prepares their own fleet for attack. Several carriers and destroyers as well as two Battleships, armed with a massive plasma gun on the front and a single heavy gun on the back.

The flagship of this fleet, codenamed "Giga-Fortress" is captained by one Captain Venza is sent out with the fleets. The ship uses the latest in Gauss technology and is also equipped with the new Strong Homogenous Residual-Interactive Neutron Kinetic (S.H.R.I.N.K) Beam Cannon from Harkness Industries (who primarily deal with Plasma technology)

To Technantis, Andara sends Andaran Plague Knights, armed with the old time weapons. They bring a shrink ray with them and battle the airborne sickness with jetpacks. Anybody want the jetpack secret, by the way? We have also developed a microchip that creates actual intelligence. The machines we have created to fight learn our enemy's behavior.

Trichomedia has discovered similar symptoms among guards guarding Prisoners of War from Selachima. They are ordered to be quarantined and studied by pathologists.

Meanwhile, regional elections occur in Trichomedia, for mayors of some cities and governors of the provinces of Oregon and Mount Doom. Mostly incumbent victories, although Mount Doom was nearly tied and incumbent Governor Sauron is now accused of rigging the election, attempting to sell one of Mount Doom's Senate seats, and throwing frozen yogurt at President <Insert Name Here> (Who doesn't really care, as it was good frozen yogurt)

President McCloud has ordered an immediate quarentine of the Northern sector of Technantis. All research will be diverted to fighting the infection, and the military hazmat division has been dispatched. President McCloud has also ordered that the Arbiter bombers are to be brought out of retirement to bomb Scaler-infested cities. Public reaction to the decision was contested, but conflict was quelled after an adress by President McCloud. The final section of it is shown here.

"We must show [the Scalers] that were are not the same people as we were before. We have the greatest air force in the world; our bombers continue to show them daily. Our navy is one of the most powerful in the world; we've proven that at the Battle of Deos. And I swear to you, soon, we will show them that we will not stand idly by and watch as they enslave other free men and women. Technantis does not stand for that. We were wrong to hold back, we were wrong to be hesitant, but by God we will not be slow to act this time! I call upon all of you to work to the end of the Scaler menace! We will retake Selachima, we will eliminate the last Scalers on this planet, and we will fight back to their homeworld to defeat this menace once and for all! It may take life times. My children or my children's children may never live to see the day when the last symbol of the barbaric Scalers comes crashing down. But I will always know that on that day, Technantis will show to the world, the entire galaxy, and most importantly to itself, that we will never concede defeat on a rightious cause. We will storm through all Scaler opposition to show that we are the greatest nation in the world, and no enemy will take that away from us!"

The president's address caused a sensation. Armed forces volunteering shot up, and President McCloud ordered full-out war on Selachima.

President McCloud has also worked his political party to nominate a new candidate for president. Joseph P. Rivers, a veteran politician who follows McCloud's policies closely, has been nominated last-minute for the election. Expectations are high for the Liberitarian party.

Prime Minister Nathalos approves the use of the microchip in soldier's equipment and in the new minigun armed machines. 1,500 new machines are sent to Selachima to fight.
They have captured a rural community.

On the battle of the seas near Atomicpunkeria, the Carriers sent out their fighter planes to deal with enemy aircraft and carriers.
While the planes were fighting in the skies, the Battleships charged up their plasma guns and opened fire on the enemy battleships. In the opening volley, two enemy battleships were destroyed, the Atomicpunkerian ships just out of the Scaler's range (except for aircraft)

The main problem with Atomicpunkerian Battleships was the plasma gun was fixed forward, making a broadside attack impossible.

The sea battle had just begun...

"I propose that we bring re-usage of the Arbiter bombers to aid our military. However, since these weapons were outlawed, we require the vote of two thirds the nations, discounting Selachima. Our new machines (T-1-81) help us in battle, but they can't win the war for us. We must take the Arbiter into action. If we do not, the Scaler ailment will spread to all of us, and we will all be plagued by the Scalers. The Arbiter is crucial to eliminating the Scalers off our Earth. W may have a vast, powerful military, but so do the Scalers. We have succeeded in wiping out the Hunanic Terrorists with our military alone. We cannot do the same thing with th scalers, as they are far more powerful. We must use the Arbiter. Are the concerned fighters of the Scalers with me? We have also developed a human size machine, which we call "Terminators". T-50's. They will also aid us in our fight. A computer program powered from a central core called "Skynet" will control them. Skynet is hidden somewhere underground, so it can be disabled by high official powers only. Tomorrow, we start Skynet." *Cheers follow*

"Upload code for Skynet System 22192, Prime Minister." said Tech Commander.
"Code is 4-2-1-6-4-3-2-7-9-0-0-6-7-1-2." said Nathalos.
"Code Valid. Start Skynet?"
"... Yes." Nathalos pressed the enter key, and the T-50's all sprang to life.
Immediatly, Nathalos saw something wrong.
"GET OUT OF HERE!" he screamed, and ran out of the door. "Destroy the Computer!"
About half of the scientists escaped , before the T-50's fully started. They started gunning down the rest of the scientists. They commandeered the whole underground base. Everything from the Assembly lines to the missile silos. Immediately, guns and terminators were being created at the assebly line. Half of the Andaran army became aware, and barricaded all the exit of the base. The other half tried to disarm the nukes. Too late. They launched in all directions, many hitting Andara, some hitting other countries, some blasting to space. 12 million soldiers and civilians died. The War of the Machines has begun.

Several Atomicpunkerian officials check the warehouse where SKYNET had been dismantled after hearing the announcement of "Skynet" being initialised. They find all the parts are still there and in working order. SKYNET still remains dismantled however to avoid another false launch situation problem.
They also move all the parts crates to various corners of the warehouse again, to make it harder to find and assemble.

President Stine Illsgrey sent a message to Prime Minister Nathalos requesting that he choose a better name for his AI system.
Of course, it came several hours too late...

A news update in the Province of Mount Doom: Sauron has been tried and found guilty. His opponent, named "Sir-Not-Appearing-In-This-Game", has become the new governor. Sauron is currently held in a nigh-inescapable prison near the city of Straw for his crimes. Meanwhile, Trichomedia prepares to invade Selachima at James Bay and Caudal Lagoon, and also fires some EMP bombs at the place SKYNET was/is.

There is an update on the sea battle.
Several Atomicpunkerian Minesweepers (amphibious boats with large grinders on the front and a chain flail to deal with land or sea mines) were destroyed and one of the battleships suffered heavy damage and has to return home.

Two aircraft carriers have suffered moderate damage and lost many planes, but they can still fight on.

The sea battle was won when the Giga Fortress activated the S.H.R.I.N.K Beam on the Scaler flagship and reduced it to a few metres in size. A pair of Minesweepers shredded it to pieces.

Atomicpunkerian waters are now safe from all naval threats and several submarines have been sent out to spot and destroy any enemy ships.
