President Stine Illsgrey reads the report on the new ship. He wonders if the Tesla Cannon is more powerful than the Harkness Industries Plasma Cannon. He also wonders whether or not the Tesla Cannon is on a turret base or fixed forward.
When I envisioned the Telsa cannon, I was thinking along the lines of the Soviet Telsa cannons from Red Alert Three. So yes, it is on a turret base. But bear in mind that the cannon isn't the most prominent feature of the ship, as the Scalers will soon find out in the little bit of roleplaying below.
The Scaler Captain looked cooly towards the horizon as he thought ahead to the coming battle with the Stuermer. He tried to picture the coming battle as he reflected on his strategy with dealing with the new superbattleship. He had already outfitted his ships with torpedos and anti-ship missiles, and he had plenty of smaller vessels to bring the great ship down. The Captain gave an evil smirk as he pictured the ship sliding into the water, ideally with the upstart Admiral Nasagi trapped inside. If she didn't, well, the Scalers had many tasteful methods of dealing with enemies. "Captain?" said a lowly subordinate officer standing in the doorway. The Captain gave a nod that said he was listening. "We've captured some Atomicpunkarian transport ships heading for the mainland. They were carrying supplies to reinforce the resistance forces." Those Atomicpunks, the Captain thought angrily. They're even worse than the Technans. "Surround them with the main ships," the Captain replied. "Let us have them watch as we defeat their allies greatest weapon." The subordinate hurried off while the Captain returned his gaze to the horizon. The Stuermer should have been here by now. It may have been big, but it was definitely not slow. "Captain, we have something on sonar," said the radarman. "Looks like an attack sub wolf pack."
"Technantis. I thought they would resort to tactics such as this. And I assumed Nasagi would come alone. Very well, use the anti-sub missiles." The radarman continued to look at the radar with a look of confusion. "Sir, we can't get a lock on it," the radarman said finally. "The subs seem to be using a jamming device of some sort. But I don't think that subs of this size use jamming dev...wait a minute, they're hailing us."
"Put it on speakers," the Captain said confused. There was a static crackle, then...
"Oh Captain, my Captain! Your fearful trip is done!" the speakers chorused.
The Scaler captain was confused and angered. "Who the hell is this?" he demanded.
"Use your imagination, slime-head."
The Captain thought for a moment, then said slowly, "Admiral Nasagi, isn't it? Where is your ship? I looked foward to crushing the pride of the Technantis Navy."
"Ever heard of Captain Marvel, my Captain?" the speakers went on.
"Captain Mar...what are you implying?"
"I'm implying that your about to get the beating of a lifetime, Captain. SHAZAM!"
The ship in front of the Captain's flagship suddenly blew apart in front of the Captain's eyes. A second later he realised that the ship was torn apart by what seemed to be a bolt of lightening. All feelings of confidence left him as a piece of the ship in front of him smashed into the foward guns on his ship and the Atomicpunkarian prisoners cheered. "All retreat!" cired the Scaler Captain. "Every ship for itself! Go on, move!" The Scaler Captain looked over his shoulder as he heard a strange sound coming from the ocean. In a massive surge, a submarine propeled out of the water, or at least what appeared to be one. The Scaler Captain instead looked upon a massive battleship, comeplete with guns, missile decks, and watertight surfaces so as to keep water out when the ship was submerged. The Captain found his eyes attracted to a strangley built gun turret with electricity spiking between the two barrels. An instant later, the Captain's ship was blasted apart by an intense beam of telsa energy. "A direct hit, admiral," the rear admiral stated to Admiral Nasagi. "Shall we let them retreat?"
"Why not," Admiral Nasagi said innocently. "They let the Aomicpunkarians survive didn't they? Speaking of which, I think we'd better give them an escort to shore. Just in case the Scalers get any funny ideas..."
So in the words of a ceartain Russian, "You are dead. Not big surprise."
