Oh for the love of Sid! This last game I played featured the worst massacre I've ever seen in civ!

This was the standard earth map that came with the game, and I started in the United States. I was Rome, and I had the Iroquios starting loc. America was the first civ I met, and they were in South America. Quickly they were conquered by legionaries. The next civ was in the lower half of South America, the Persians. I conquered them completely except for a one-tile island city off the coast  (you would've thought the game designers would have not had one-tile islands in their earth map, but no! )

Meanwhile the Greeks, who started in Russia, expanded like kudzu across the map, occupying half of Asia and part of Europe. The whole world (every nation was furious toward me for destroying South America :crazyeye: ) declared war on me. My only ally, Germany, was helping me against Babylon and Greece (The two big superpowers of Eurasia)

The Germans were conquered by the Greeks, except for one city in North America, which I conquered myself by stabbing the Germans in the back! :crazyeye:

The Babylonians and Greeks had colonies on North America and Greenland, and because they were distant from their motherlands, they were easily taken. But when I landed 5 Knights on Babylonian land (Europe), I learned why there were few units in their colonies. They were all in the motherland.

The 5 knights took the Babylonians by surprise and I was able to raze one of their cities. But then Babylon sent their own 5 knights to kill mine. Before they could attack, I made negociations. Hammurabi was afraid of me for taking over their cities in Greenland, so he made peace.

YES! I kept my knights alive. But suddenly, a greek SOD of knights appeared from across the continent (about 10 knights  ) I fortified all my 5 knights (most were vets, some were elites) on the hills and braced myself for the attack.

The battle was ferocious. My knights held off all but three knights, one of which they redlined. Every last of my knights were slain there. Every one was dead.

I made another attack in Greek japan, but they held off against my attacks.

Right now I'm ahead of all the other nations in the histograph but trailing in tech, as trading with other nations is hard (they all hate me).

I have all victories enabled, so I don't know how I'm going to win this thing. I doubt I can conquer Greece and Babylon will be difficult. Since everyone hates me, I can't possibly win in Diplomatic unless I make them all like me somehow. Spaceship would also be difficult, as the Greeks are production freaks, with many cities and wonders.

How am I going to win this thing (BTW, this is regent level) ? :(

Spaceship needs no production. Prebuilds and science are all you need.

Well I'm not doing too good in science either. As I said the computer is furious and won't let me trade without me paying BIG BUCKS.

Just wait 'til Arty. You'll conquer them with no problem. Meanwhile, declare peace, and build up your economy and production centers while you wait for Replaceable parts. Build about twenty five infantry (this should be sufficient on Regent, I'm not sure though), and a good deal of arty (50 +), and then attack! Try to get them to fight eachother also.
