The Law of the Jungle

An emissary from the Spanish came to leave a package at the Palace. It had a quaint picture of a baby sleeping among some animals, unknown to me. The baby had a some sort of yellow circle around its head, as did two other people in the picture, supposedly the baby's parents. In the package there were some foodstuffs that I also do not recognize, but nibbling at these I think all of it is safe to eat, and tastes quite nice. This smoke-dried leg of something like a peccary is especially nice. I had to think quick, so I wrapped the dried-up and shrivelled head of Barbara in some banana leaves and gave it to the messenger telling him to take it to his master.

I don't quite know what to think of this custom of exchanging gifts, but regardless, I wish everyone a peaceful time of the Winter Solstice.

So I sent these in a PM to yahzuk on Wednesday with the hopes that I would get another long update in, but I'll just post them publicly as well so it doesn't look like anything funky once the actual update goes up:

Eazulotl will enlist in the Settler.
Eczulotl will adopt the Citizenship Policy, offering 1 Fame.
Edzulotl will enlist in the Settler.
Eezulotl will give the following orders: "Stay under protection of Jaguar. Settle on river, one hex west of southwest bananas."
Efzulotl will give orders: "Escort settler to settling location."

Short summaries this time, because holidays keep us all busy...

Eazu feels it is time to move on; his time among the Yilfruit has been wonderful, but he does not want the world to pass him by. Edd, ever the diligent son, insists on coming with him.

Eczie has hit on something special in the Sunrise Forest, giving everyone a say in their own lives and getting them to work together as a result. This policy is successful enough that a hard-working band of strapping young lads offers themselves as full-time Workers for her and the rest of Aztlan (hence the Citizenship adoption).

Eezul...well, he'll be disappearing once the settlement happens, so he's just a background character.

And Effzee (the new Jaguar captain) is another Sunrise Forest gentleman, a respectable fellow who has always admired Eczie from afar. When reports stopped coming back from the 1st Company Jaguars, all feared the worst and Eczie sought Effzee's comfort while mourning for her husband. When word was received that Sparthage survived after all, Effzee was mortified at assisting Eczie's unfaithfulness and he joined the 2nd Company Jaguars at the last moment before they left Tenochtitlan, expecting to never see Eczie again. He never said goodbye.

Meanwhile, the consonants of House Greythage's members continued to confuse everyone involved :)

Indeed, people will be away over the month so it is sort of difficult to run such a game as this when people are doing other things.

Happy New Years to all. 2012 has kicked off to a crazy start for me at work and home. Won't be able to get the game rolling again until this weekend.

I will be away from the 8th of January for 2 weeks just so you know ;), so if my character can be put on hiatus that would be good :p

you missed a lot of things, like several weeks of nothingness for example.

incidentally I am going on hiatus for two weeks from this point forth, (well tomorrow, but I can't post tomorrow :p)

The afternoon session of the fifth council shall be open until Friday 13 January 22:00 GMT-5. Each character (except the newborn children) may perform 1 action.
I'll be away most of the week, so the long turn should give folks a chance to get caught up and ease back into the game. Hoping to be back to regular schedule next week.

I join the army.

If i cant, then toil.

OOC: Trying to look up what actions I can take while enlisted in a settler squad with minimal resources... doesn't appear to be much. Can I issue a "Produce" order for the city even though I've joined the Settler unit, as it hasn't departed yet?

There is an Offering to the gods, but the math makes it a gamble, which I guess is the point.

You cannot produce if you do not have hammers.
