I would like to start The Civ III Demo Game Mafia. We will uphold all values and will not violate the Constitution, because then we'd be kicked out, but my idea is easy. We will rule the government by all voting the same, thereby making all decisions. What we will do is agrue in our thread about what to vote, and then after we reach a decision, we all vote the same. I feel this is good for anyone who wants to have power, but doesnt want to go through the formal process of being elected. Anyone who wants to be in it is welcome. Also, if you have any suggestions of changes or anything, i would be glad to hear them. If you want to join, just reply saying you want to join.

Thank you for your time. Remember Great Iguanaman Shall set you free.

this should be moved to the RPG subforum. Very interesting concept, i was waiting for this one

That's what I was thinking. Also the "We all vote the same" is like a political group. That's a :nono: nono here. You could get a PI for that, but since you're new, that's just the rules. :)

whats wrong with this idea?
all the other groups are voting according to there personal views, i think this is a personal dis on italians, which doesn't reflect well on the Civ 3 idea. I heard about this through a friend who i will keep anonymous. the friend said he had a lot of fun doing this. I see absolutely nothing wrong with this idea. I even specifically said we will obey the constition. A politcal party, honestly, if your gonna read that much into then all the Citizen groups are Political Parties. But, besides this unpleasent experience, i think this game is pretty fun. but i think you should leave this open the Citizens. I mean if it is a political party okay. You want this to be realistic, and in reality there are opposing political parties. Any way, if its gonna get me kicked of, then by all means shut it down, but if it is shut down i will be in silent protest of this game until the day i die, or the game ends, whatever happens first. Well youve heard my opinion, now make your decision, if it neads to be shut down do it.

The Great Iguanaman

PS I will be happy to change the general idea, i was just really exited to start it. If you wanna set guidelines i will happily obey.

We have found through the experiences of previous Democracy Games that the only thing Policital Parties do is cause increased bickering, fighting, and general mayhem. We al want to work together for the greater good, not work against each other for our own personal gain.

Please, end this party. They are strictly banned under the Code of Laws. If you insist on continuing, I will call for a Public Investigation.

The game constitution forbids it. Atleast the wording in your orignal post sounded like a political group with "all people must vote 1 way".

all the other groups are voting according to there personal views,

Not at all. They are not saying "vote this way". It represents a voice, yes, but that voice can break away from the group.

i think this is a personal dis on italians, which doesn't reflect well on the Civ 3 idea.

I'm part Italian. ;) But, I'm just going by the game rules.

Ok, just don't start a flame war. :) The reason we don't give TOO much power to parties is because discussions will become chaotic, and too polarized. The idea was there because of what happened in the Civ2 demogame.

so............. whats the final verdict. Is there anyway that i can keep this idea but not have you guys on my case? I would really like that because, like i said, i really like this idea. Also, i would be more then happy to change the whole we all vote the same thing. Please, let me keep the idea, its my baby. I will adhere any guidline you set for me.

You could put it in the Demogame RPG forum. But, keep it to our current techs. :)

Apparently i cant take this post of, i thought i could but i cant. So whoever can please remove it as soon as posible, but as ive read, no one can, so let the record show i do not support this idea anymore because if i do i will be shot.

Please don't yell unless you want to be banned or something. :) May I suggest the 3-day extended weekend? ;)

Seriously though, I said you can have it in the RPG subforum.

Hehe. I was getting bored too, Octavian.

Anyway, I am closing this thread to avoid it turning into a flame war. But, Great Iguanaman, if you want to open discussion on allowing political parties, you may do so. Currently this group would directly violate the constitution, however.

You could easily make this compliant, Great Iguanaman. Instead of specifying block voting just say that the citizen group will discuss current issues and recommend or propose a choice based on internal group discussion.
