The Mongol World Order

As the other continent discovered us, effectively making us the new world, we need to revise several of our policies. This means more radical thinking.
I would urge the readers of this memo to seek to understand the strategic thinking behind this, and not attack at sight for mere technicalities.

1. The Final Solution to Germany

Review
Germany is a problem, we attacked them to get their wonders, taking Berlin to do so, conquered Cologne and razed Stuttgart, Essen and Dusseldorf.
We can say they hate our guts. Yet, they are weak, and since we deprived them for some key cities, resources and units, they are now down to several longbowmen in various cities, like Frankfurt, Tartar and Dortmund. These are also important to wipe out first, as the Germans are the "drunk natives" where we are more the Middle Empire, as the Aztecs discovered them first.

Suggested Solution
I do suggest a brief "Blitzkrieg" to take out Frankfurt, Tartar and Dortmund and thus effectively end Germany once and for all.

Requirements
A brief war with 6 catapults, 12 macemen and 4 knights to conquer their cities Frankfurt, Tartar and Dortmund(1600-1650). We will retool immediately for the Roman War, using Dortmund as a base.

2. All Roads lead to Rome

Review
Rome is a yet bigger problem, but we cannot concentrate on them until the hostile Germans are dealt with. Arpinium is a thorn in our side, recently built between Pisae and Neapolis, it creates complications. Hamburg is the religious city for Taoism, and is obviously an immediate target. Antium is key, as it is the second most important Roman city. This leaves Ravenna, Roma and an unidentified city north of Rome as a remaining target. Rome got both cavalry and heavy infantry, and would be the biggest fight yet to come with this weaponry.

Suggested Solution
I do suggest an immediate follow up war with Rome as we are about the middle into the German War, making this a two front war.

Requirements
This requires Engineering, so that we can move our troops from the east to the west, as well as reinforcements from the south.

3. The Leader of the Old World

Review
These are the second or third power in this game. I am certain they can be dealt with at a distance. They got 10 cities against our 18, even the Japanese and Aztecs combined are less than us, with a total of 17. Taking out the Germans first, is also the tool needed to get at the Aztecs. They also got a strong technology lead on us, a smaller, faster and nimbler power, that could outgun us in local force projections.

Suggested solution
First of all, we need several caravels, more so, they need to be placed where Aztec ships are and Aztec land is to be found. This means we need several new ports placed in the East, and we need them fast.

Requirements
Winning over Germany, developing Tartar, Frankfurt and other Eastern cities to become real naval ports, and first prepare to cover our own coast, then to invade other lands. We may also need to found 2-3 new Eastern Ports.

4. The Japanese Candidate

Review
These are a newcomer to our lands, with only 7 cities (one lost to the Aztecs, suggesting bad blood between them). They are also technologically stronger

Suggested Solution
These can be our distant continent mini-partner. We can treat them well, and play on their anti-Aztec sentiment in order to bolster our support on the other continent. When some invasion takes place, we bribe the Japanese cheaply to help them regain Osaka and so on.

Requirements
Gifting Japanese time to time with techs the Aztecs already got, to build relationship. Conduct gift trades or beneficial to Japan-trades in order to fuel the Japanese vendetta on Aztecs.

5. The Unknown People - an In Depth Analysis

Review
Nothing is known of the unknown people. But, as there is things we don't know, there are also things we don't know, we know we don't know, allowing us to extrapolate some information from others. Some call this intelligence, others call it guesswork. Well, there has been no conquests of this interesting nation, they got no new cities. They got more technology than us. They have possibly not impacted the powergraphs of the Japanese or Aztecs. There can be a third smaller continent, it does not have to be only one other continent.

Suggested Solution
I suggest we send out caravels and find this "smaller continent" or "peninsula on other continent" and analyze it, then grab it. We can afford a minor overseas invasion and secure ourselves "Domination Victory" by getting more than 60 % of the land or so, then boost the number of people in our own continent.

Requirements
A stronger effort on navy, several scouting caravels and a decision to go for Domination Victory. This mysterious nation can be our ticket for this win.

I know this is my first post here in quite a few terms, but why are all civilizations a target in your plan. I like your ideas with Germany, and I just favor your idea of a war with Rome (although I'd rather it be a limited war to weaken them where they will not become a threat,) but it seems as if you suggest future wars with the our pals overseas. Why not try to befriend these long distance civs that would cost us a great amount of gold in maitenence cost and long drawn out wars, and dominate our own continent to maintain a status of a global superpower? A spaceship victory is so easy at this difficulty level I don't see why you wouldn't want it. Plus a domination victory is a little bit harder than you think. Grabbing our entire continent plus a minor invasion on the other continent won't win it for us. And you must realize a minor overseas invasion is almost the equivalent of a major continental invasion. I hope we have a few military geniuses here, because we might need them with this plan.

I think we got some military geniuses here, we just need to encourage them.

Good plan, except for befriending the Japanese part. Toko has a different state religion from us, and would NEVER open borders for our missionaries at this kind of state. If he doesn't open borders with us, we can forget about trading techs with him. It'll almost never happen, unless we have a huge tech lead.

Btw, Rheims can produce caravels for exploration expedition, after it has completed all wealth buildings e.g bank and maybe a university.

I agree with a swift war, I think we should take out Tartar first, then Frankfurt, and then send some knights north to take Dortmund while our military prepares for other goals.

I do think that Rome should be taken out. However, I'd like to wait a bit. As you've mentioned Rome has got quite a decent army at the moment. I think that we should wait until we have either cavalry, grenadiers or riflemen to attack them. The war will be much easier then.

Continental invasions and befriending Tokugawa? That is bordering the insane :p :crazyeye: I'd personally prefer a nice and easier Space/Diplo victory.

BTW Welcome back Ice!
:band: When can we expect a new edition of your newspaper? :p

I'm a bit annoyed to see a new war-mongering topic days after we (more or less) decided to go peaceful for a few turns. Planning ahead is fine but I now have the feeling that the public opinion shifts every day.

Can we use this topic as the fundament of a long-term diplomatic policy, in which we define what we will do to other civilizations. Refinements and tuning the long term diplomacy policy shouldn't be forgotten though as the world tends to change.

Of course, this was just a proposal for a domination victory.

Still, the German and Roman war plans holds valid, and we can handle both in two wars next term. We are still much stronger than the Romans.

I know, but I'd rather see us wage 1 well prepared, quick war than 2 well prepared slow wars.

Yes, I even offer a well prepared dual quick war, which will end before war weariness hits.
