The Most Dangerous Game - Small Pangaea FFA

Could be Etienne, he's using a lot of UUs which also give more GG points.
Bad things are not happening in the land of Egypt.. not yet, anyway, but if the Holkans wont leave, there could be a lot of dead bodies soon <fingers his ax>

And a second wonder from Alexi, nice :)

Oh right. You. I had forgotten about your leader and pick cause you're the only one I haven't met yet. Makes sense.

On an unrelated note, you're IMP and you're not zerging the map?

seems like there is a difference between "cease fire" and "peace". I think peace always includes 10 turns when opponents cannot attack each other, while cease fire does not force such a thing? and it seems that once you have cease fire, you cannot make a peace deal any more?

Basically correct. You could cancel the cease fire and then make peace.

Alternatively, if one player demands something (e.g. gold/resource) and the other player accepts, then the player who makes the demand cannot declare war for 10 turns (at least, this is true with the AI, have never tried it in multiplayer). If both players did this you'd both get the 10 turn "cannot declare war".

I should admit that I'm myself a little bit surprised by the odds and outcome of battles from this turn - I mean ... I was prepared to sacrifice something for further advance but the cost was an unexpected light one ! :crazyeye:
BTW - the display of odds before combat is definately wrong ( and also what is logged in Combat-log tab ).

Sent to Ardi once more !

Wow, well that's ominous, but I've not received the save yet.

From what I can tell the combat odds displayed are not wrong: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=8478246&postcount=1

I also couldn't find any reason in a search of the forums to think the combat log shows the wrong odds.

It's disappointing that you didn't receive the save yet but - as long as I'm back home - I decided to make public two screenshots regarding the first battle ... as long as no other player could use this information somehow ...

As a side note : I lost it - but inflicted much damage than expected - could be the effect of First Strike chance ? - and some calculation there seems to be ... wierd !

Well, actually, any circumstantial modifiers are applied to the defender, not the attacker. The only bonus that is applied to the attacker is Combat. So, your Archer did indeed get 3.3 modified strength, while the spearman got 4 + Combat II (0.8) + 30% (50% forest + 5% fortify - 25% shock = 30%, which means 1.2) which comes down to 6.00 modified strength. So the calculations are all correct.

This, however, has nothing to do with just being plain lucky. If you did inflict a bunch of damage on the spearman, it's just because you were much luckier than you should have been. A first strike chance gave you a free chance at doing some damage right off the bat, but realistically you shouldn't have inflicted too much. Civ is at least a little bit a game of chance though.

I see ... so my Shock bonus is substracted from his forest + fortify one ?
Quite strange but ... it brings the values to displayed ones. :)

Anyway ... where is the game now ? Still at Ardi ?
