How many Chinese food have you eaten outside the US?
I have eaten a chinese food in US in Los Angeles and they were nice like the Singapore's Chinese food.
DO anybody care how McDonald work?Every country's McDonald is owned/controlled by a person.The main branch of McDonald earns money by giving rights to own their name and selling chickens.
Yes I am food wise,I have eaten different variety of foods in SIngapore from $3 per plate to $100 + per plate ranging from village foods to World Class foods.All kinds of variety and I find Chinese food the best 2nd is Indonesian!
The Hyper Sonic plane was written in SIngapore Straits Times if you bother to read it everyday(unfornutely,it was written in a small column,so it is unlikely you will encounter).
Having too many children isnt good,You know what,I have 1 brother and 3 sisters meaning that my parents HAD 5 CHILDREN!
And I feel it is very hard for my parents to control all of them.I personally think 1 /2 children is the best choice.
Of course it is great to have rights to own as many children as you want,but have you ever considred how bad it is for the entire nation,I think the country can industrialise faster with lesser population,it will increase poverty rate.I believe strongly if China wants to enter golden age in 21 st century they must control their population.Look at India they have freedom right to give birth right?Look ,India FOREVER WILL NEVER BE SUPERPOWER IF THEIR POPULATION IS NOT CONTROLLED TIGHTLY enough like China.Even with 1 child policy,CHINA POPULATION is still growing.

1 Child Policy is already the strictest policy in the world to control the population,China population is still growing,statistic says it will start decrease in few decade time.
Despite high population, Shanghai which has population of 16 million is a middle income city!No other city in the world with such a high population reached middle income catagory.Shanghai had done a great job since Capitalist idea was adopted(90's).This means that population is a major problem but some "great" cities manage to overcome them

It's quite humane, just distract them with a rattle while you stealthily draw the carving knife out from behind your back, watch it glint in the noonday sun, and then bring it hurtling down with an almighty shriek of triumph and desire! The exhiliration, the thrill as it crunches through bone and cartilage...

Sorry about that, had a little turn there.What I mean is that you cannot discount any possible solutions to world hunger. We've got to put those idle children to work somehow, and what better way than to "put them to work", so to speak, in the food industry. A capital idea!
The next superpower will be the country that adopts this most sensible, repsonsible, and... APPETIZING policy!!

So's Japan - not enough room for everybody (half the pop of US squeezed into an area the size of California but only a small % of which is actually liveable) but they do have a high quality of life.
Or Singapore (heck we have the Army jungle training grounds just outside my former university here
). Or HK which is also packed like hell. Nobody can predict the future; so don't be so sure.

I think that perhaps standard of living should be defined so that everyone has a common frame of reference. I see two sides making statements that are contradictory, and neither is trying to understand where the other is coming from.
As I see it, the K-D, Fayadi side equates income to SoL, whereas the other side (names escape me) adds in factors like living space (IE population density) and job satisfaction.
Might I suggest that you start a seperate thread to establish a definition of 'Standard of Living' that you both can agree with, and then proceed from there?

I think that the definition for Standard of Living is only one of a greater number of concepts that has fractured meanings. Socialism, communism, liberal, conservative, etc. have been tossed around so much and tacked on to so many ideas that I find many people -- not only here but in others forums of debate or even casual conversation -- drive themselves and others to frustration and anger over arguments directly focusing on, or involving the use of, concepts for which the different parties have different definitions.
