It's not just the origin isn't explained - but usually, nothing is explained about what the supernatural is, or how it works.
Consider, if I "explained" something by saying "It was squibble-splat", would you accept that as an explanation? Now if I replace that phrase with "fairies", "the supernatural", "God", "magic", but do not explain what these things actually are, how is that any different?
It's a problem with our knowledge, but it's not a problem with evolution. That we don't know how life started does not affect our knowledge of how life developed since then in the slightest.
