Okay, this garden needs a little pruning.
You wish to make sure a stupid, idiotic or incompetent knucklehead doesn't get into the White House? Well, guess what? The voters disagree on what constitutes stupid, idiotic, or incompetent.
You (yeah, you, the reader) believe X. Doesn't matter what X is. Maybe abortion or the 2nd Amendment or gay rights or more defense spending or whatever. When someone comes up to you and says they disagree with you about X, what's your reaction?
Most peoples' reaction to me is to try and convince me of X. After all, if I'm a smart and lucid person, I should reach the same conclusion on X that they did. I don't, and they usually have a fit.
When you get your hair in a twist wondering why some doofus you're arguing with refuses to see it you're way, just remember this: they think you're the one with the problem.
Since there's no universally recognized authority that decides who is right and who is wrong, the only thing to do is have a vote and let everybody voice their opinion.
