A translation question for a resident German:
To put it into context, it is being quoted on a Nazi propaganda poster, as something that a socialist leader said, I think.
So far, using my rudimentary German skills, I gather it means that this guy is saying that Hitler is a foreign who will rule over all of Germany and needs to be gotten rid of. Or something like that.

I noticed this weirdness among American "conservatives", here on the forum and on TV. (I used "conservative" in quotes because it doesn't mean much. I'm trying to use that term only for people who call themselves that.)

Those two statements are inherently contradictory (and simultaneously annoying). So why do this? It doesn't make sense.

In order to get a custom avatar, the rules say that you have to have 30 posts and be a member for 30 days. This is my 30th day here, I have well over 30 posts, and yet I don't see an option for a custom avatar. Am I doing something wrong, or is it a full 30 days and then you get the option on the 31st?

Sometimes such features take a little while to actually kick in, like when someone is banned until, say, 2PM, but it still says they're banned until 2:15PM. Also, the avatar rule was changed recently, maybe that's part of it.

Do you not get the option to do so in the avatar options in your profile?
You should already be able to upload one from your computer or link to one on the net... Anyway, as Sharwood said, sometimes these things take a while to kick in. Try again tomorrow, and if it still doesn't work, ask in Site Feedback, where the mods and admins will see the question.

As far as I know, Camikaze, Dachs is not a resident German. He is merely a wannabe resident German like the rest of us.

To honestly answer my own question, yes, I do very frequently forget that Canada exists. Nowadays, I think about it a little more than I used to due partly to my proximity to the border.

I always find it amazing that bordering the greatest country the universe has ever seen north and south are such backwards uncivilized tracts of land as Canda and Mexico.
