Why did I agree to go to "an evening of contemporary dance inspired by and performed to the written and spoken word."?
Hot girl asked you?

Am I the only one getting that "old person inept with technology" feeling with all the new... things on CFC? I can't find the controls to remove the "bookmarks" at the bottom of the page, for one...

I third that motion. Although with me it's more: "WTH do we need this horsecrap for?" Rather than: "son, can you come over and set my VCR for me again?"

I don't like the bookmark bar or the thread starter's name being under the thread title, but apart from that I'm cool with it.

is there anything else new?
All this social networking crap. I despise social networking so much I've actually broken up with women rather than subject myself to it, so now CFC attacks me with it.

There was also a "Tags" section, but ainwood has already ditched it - thankfully, tags are awful.

ah, that was that "friend invitation thing" that showed up like a private message...
Yeah, prompting me to diss people in a reply, before realising it's publically accessible. DELETE POST!

I'm seriously considering clicking the "Break Friendship" button on someone already, just because it will crush their gentle spirit.

I still see the tags section? It's right down at the bottom of the page?

How does turning a light on and off affect its life-time? Is it better to leave a light on when you leave a room (for, lets say, a couple of hours), or is it better to turn it off and turn it on again when you return?

Energy wise, better to turn it off, mythbusters did this, they found unless you have a flourescent and are only leaving for less than 30 seconds, then it's better energy wise to turn it off then back on. Lifetime wise, I think only a slight loss in longevity by turning it on and off over leaving it on. Turn your lights off.

Yeah, this. Did they do halogens though? I don't remember. I'd imagine it would be the same basic thing, but still, be nice to know the numbers.

What the hell does 'altabing' mean? I tried to put 'clubbing' into into a text message, and the predictive text thingie came up with 'altabing'. This small annoyance meant I had to do it the old fashioned way. And I have no idea what it means.

You've never been altabing seals? Never heard of it either, but it sounds like a tech term, like 'alternate tabbing' or something.
