Abaddon@

Well, my dad told me this. When he worked in Iraq, one of his work mates caught a mouse on a home-made mouse trap(big bottle with cheese on the bottom placed on a table, the mouse runs to the cheese, the bottle falls, the string tied to the bottle prevents it from falling, instead it just hangs and the mouse is trapped), and shortly after that saw a scorpion. He took the scorpion, placed it with the mouse in the big bottle, and after couple of minutes of being scared they started to fight. IIRC the mouse bit the scorpions head several times and didn't care much of the scorpion's stings(it wasn't poisonous). In the end the mouse killed the scorpion.

I honestly didn't know that a mouse is so strong before my dad told me this(he's not lying).

hmmm. Interesting fact i probably will never call upon.

Very apt for this thread ;)

how important is a guys physivcal appearance to women?

Depends on how vain and shallow they are. But pretty people are easy on the yes and thus easier to be around.

I'm searching for the bandm performing the punk version of "99 Red Balloons"

Anyone know easy, effective ways to clean cds/dvds? For free, of course.
Windex and a soft cloth. the important thing is to only wipe straight out from the center to the edge, and NOT in circles.

Got it, I'll see if it works.

Another q:
So my rearview mirror fell off. Yeah, idk why that happened, but anyway, I only have duct tape keeping it up now, and because thats both temporary and extremely unfashionable, what do I need to get that thing back up?

7 Seconds did a version of it. Isn't the original 99 Red Balloons song punk enough?

The Goldfinger version is gets extra points for teh crazier German part at the end but 7 Seconds does take the cake in my opinion. I always loved that version.

Riddle me this, OT!

Where may I go to collect information regarding the neighborhoods (or whatever random districts may be assigned) of the Twin Cities and the surrounding metro area? Demographic info, area-specific maps (very preferable), crime stats, things in the area, and pictures (a plus).

If it were New York City, it'd be mostly unnecessary since I have a feel for most areas in this wide city, but admittedly, some of these neighborhood names are foreign (to me) and I can't quite piece them together with the overall map of the metro area. Gotta learn somehow. Once I know the areas, I can easily combine that knowledge with things like the transit maps and major roads and so forth, but I gotta know what I'm looking at, first.

Multiple sites are fine if they can complement each other or overlap.

Thanks in advance! :goodjob:

Why do some sports players (like in American Football) wear paint below their eyes? Is it a psychological thing (war paint) or does it really help with some supposed problem with reflected floodlight, cause that's what I've been hearing.

But chemistry was useful just to know things like why things rust, what I shouldn't eat when I just wake up, why it's a good idea to wear gloves when cleaning the oven, why I shouldn't leave my guitar by the radiator, why putting salt in the water and leaving the lid on makes water boil faster... etc.

Let's assume I didn't pay too much attention in chemistry class ... why shouldn't I eat when I just woke up?

why do i keep getting nosebleeds on a daily basis?

If it's not the high blood pressure thing, have you had a lot of exercise lately that you're not used to? I got the worst nose bleed of my life as a teenager after overexercising on a bike, I had made blood vessels in my nose burst. :crazyeye:

Perhaps that's a good place to start?

Booze?

EDIT: That response made no sense; I read the quoted material as what shouldn't I eat (from the original Mise quote) rather than why as was written in the piece I quoted.
