Question : Firstly, I'm 17, a senior in high school. I'm interested in this girl, who is clearly interested in me also, and we want to get together to go on a walk sometime. The small problem is, her mom is ridiculously overprotective and wants her twin sister to come with us. In addition, I want to ask this person to prom, and I've figured I should do that in the next 2 weeks. Any solutions?

(My girlfriend asked me that very question yesterday, and I responded in that order - bearing in mind that she was attending one of Columbine's rival high schools when it happened. Then I gave the answer West was looking for, and we had a good laugh as we are both so Mormon we think coffee is scandalous.)

I remember reading somewhere that there was a group of Mormons that smoked marijuana in Utah. They apparently picked it up from the Mexicans when they went on missions there.

Couldn't they just buy it in Utah?

Of course, they may have picked up the habit in Mexico on their missions, I knew some missionaries who would not have surprised me if they did something like that.

Most Americans don't even know what bollix are.

Wanker is something else, but I think they know what it means. I suppose people would be insulted if you called them that, but I don't know how offended.

Its an odd one, becase the "Brit" in "British" isnt considered offensive, but the "Paki" in "Pakistani" is. Same thing, first four letters of the word.

Also, they don't call it "Japan" in Japan, but "Nippon". Although I recall the first 3 letters of that being even offensiver.

I don't think calling anyone a Brit, Nip,Jap,Yank,Scot etc is necesary offencive, its how you use it.

I'll happily call a pakistani friend a "dumbass paki" (nor does he mind) because its all in jest, but is used AGAINST a stranger, they have every right to get offended and bop me on the nose!

Not quite sure what you mean by 'pay-tv', but it comes with a standard package of channels. You have your free tv, which basically your news stations that you can pick up by antenna. Then there's your pay-per-view where you can get movies and sporting events, among other things. Everything else comes in packages. Back in the day, everything else was considered 'basic cable' but with the explosion of channels over the years, I'm not sure if ESPN2 is in the most basic package. I think it is though, because I'm pretty sure my parents have it and they would never pay extra for sports channels.
