How would you feel if someone called you a Cauc instead of a Caucasian...

Since I'm an adult and not a whiney hyper-sensitive drama child, I'd have no problem with that. In fact, it'd be kind of funny since people might think you'd be using it as a term of affection for your boyfriend.

as in:

"what's up cauc?"

"how's my cauc today?"

(now don't be starting a homo-phobic diatribe...you'll be reported by the OTHER drama kids.)

Probably depends on how they pronounced it. :mischief: Chances are, I might think they were calling me something else.

But, I mean, if someone wanted to call me a Caucasian, or shorten that, then I wouldn't be offended. I'd probably be amused because it's rather unfamiliar. (Like being called a cracker, too - typically that just amuses me, unless there's clear ill will involved) I don't understand why "Jap" or "Paki" is offensive, either. I don't really get it, but I don't use the terms because I know they are. Sometimes you just do things, or don't do things, for social reasons, even if you don't intellectually understand why.

Its not the word, its the history behind the word. Jap was used as a derogatory term during WWII, and has been used mostly for pejorative purposes since then.

You might not mean anything by it when you say it, but some words have an ugly history.

Is it just me or do all Jewish women talk extremely annoyingly?
Do all young people say things that are extremely immature? I think it's you.

Erm guys.. While Whomp was narked at such a stupid, borderline racist comment, noone notice the inherant humor?

Do you think Japanese find the shortened version of Japanese insulting? I've never understood it myself.

To be honest I'm not sure and there's nobody around in the office to ask at the moment, but I'd be willing to bet that most would be familiar with the term as a WWII era slur. So even if they're not personally insulted, most would assume it to be intended as such.

If something orbits a moon (something that orbits a planet), what is that something called?

D0MINATRIX not understand.:shake:

youngperson=immature=youngperson.

Of COURSE you would expect an immature response from a kid, you expect an mature response from an adult.

Im 15, so according to your logic.

Boobies!
