Commercial is obvious, but I disagree with expansionist.
Their empire wasn't that big when compared to the other major Imperial powers, mainly confined to small islands. Landwise, they have a very small territory.
Scientific would better reflect the Dutch. Off the top of my head, they created/improved innovations such as the Windmill, as well as consturcting dams to reclaim land from the sea. Plenty of influential Dutch scientists. I can think of Haydn right now.
