The Russians!

Imperial Russia played the Great Game. Who did they play it with and what's the Game actually about?

BTW, what's tovarisch?

More specifically, it's played over the highlands of Inner Asia i.e. Afghanistan, Hindu Kush, the Pamirs etc. Game of spies.

OK, next question's yours. :crazyeyes Come on, bring it on! :p

Alright! Im gonna ask a question so hard even I dont know the answer! :D

What country's people were deported in whole to Siberia by Stalin, and allowed to return home by Kruschev?

Stalin deported a lot of peoples to the Siberian wastes. I would say, the Crimean Tatars of Ukraine (?), for one.

No wait, it's the Germans. There's a group of about 2.5 mil Volga Germans who were deported to Siberia during WW2 cos of the German invasion. These were descendants of a Gothic tribe which migrated to the area around the same time as other Germanic tribes migrating westwards into the Roman Empire.
Later allowed to "return" to Germany. But I think this was after the fall of the Soviet Union .......

Was it the Chechens, by any chance?
