The reason it is happening so often in the last 24 hours or so is because everyone is coming to the site to post or find out about the PTW expansion.

It has ben annoying. Even when I do get through it's extremely slow, but it will hopefully settle down once everyone has PTW and is too busy playing to get online. 
It should also improve (I hope) after the server maintenance tomorrow (Friday). See the threads on this topic in Site Feedback.
Last night, when I first logged on to the forums, I got the 'server too busy' message.... Talk about spontaneous rejection. 
It continued to give out such messages thru out the night, making my forum exp somewhat of a slowish nightmare....

Yeah dudes, though TF you should get rid of that image. It should only activate if we really need it. Alot of the slowness is from that "Server busy" message.

Bad idea... I tried disabling that feature yesterday and it crashed the server.

Any plans to get a better server or bulletin board in the near future?
The site has grown tremendously, and thats really cool in alot of ways. But it does kind of suck when its near impossible to get in because of the heavy traffic.
I thought you mentioned something about an upcoming change next year...?

yeah i refresh my browser like 20 times and still can't get on during morning and evening hours. I read and post now late at night, it's the only time i can actually log on.

We definitely will get a powerful new server that is capable of supporting at least 350 simultaneous users at any time of the day in March 2003.
