The Song of the Moon

Woodelf, did you check out Rabbit, White's unit graphics? If you can't find them, check his sig, but I think we really can use them. Especially the Lancers.

Also, to all you lurkers out there, feedback on v0.22A is welcome!

Ummm, JBG...why do you think Rabbit made them? For the Moon mod. ;) I begged, PM'd, and bribed to get them made. :D

Yeah, I sort of gathered...

I'm slowly trying to add them in - see the Rallying Call for progress.

I've finally got the Lancers done. In-game pic to come soon...

Very nice mod. Just tried it out for the first time, won by space race
I have two issues however:

1. Barbarians founding cities on Dust Sea's

This is annoying. But I managed to flip the barb city to my side,
thus an untakeable city :)

2. Turrets

Good as they stand, but maybe there should be some kind of assemble/dissasemble feature. Because I managed to flip an enemy city with a few turrets, and all those turrets were moved to a random square in his territory where they stood the entire game.

Overall excellent though, keep up the good work :goodjob:

Could you be a bit more specific?

The hyperlinks seem to work okay - are you having problems opening the file afterwards? To open *.rar files, you need a copy of WinRAR.exe, which is a free, shareware file compression program that is superior to WinZip. Given the size of the mod, we were compelled to use *.rar files so as to save space - otherwise the download would have been in treble figures. Here's a hyperlink to a free WinRAR download site: WinRAR
OK, i got it.
It was the link that didn't work, i know what's a rar file. I was finally able to have the link work using internet explorer rather than a true web browser (firefox in my case) I guess this download site uses some microsoft specific piece of crap.

That's a first. I had yet to see hear about the barb city on dust sea. Odd, thanks for pointing it out.

I guess we'll have to look into the turrets. They had more than 1? Not good.

Thanks for the kind words and please add anymore comments or suggestions.

I thought there was no oxygen on the moon, how are those troops breathing. ?

Most should have Rabbit, White's helmet/airpack graphics, but other than that you need a wee bit of imagination or a giant leap of faith for now.

You guys should update the screenshots in the first post, entice the people with fancy new units and such :D

That is so true Rabbit. The helmets/airpack combo adds a ton of realism and it looks

It was originally an MP game with lots of AI, but the other two players retired after a while.
I think that specific city was originally in human control, so you dont need to worry about that (I hope). Although I don't know if there is any restriction on (human) turret building, I only built one in each city...

If somebody posts a static link to the file (ie. something that can run in a download manager) then I'd be interested in downloading it. My internet connection isn't good enough to download the entire file in one go.

Guys, I installed the mod, the new version (after deleting the previous version), and was really impressed with the new menu screen and the overall feel of the mod (from reading the civilopedia). The only thing that threw me off was the menu music, until....

I started a new game, and got a very wierd terrain combination! It doesn't look like the moon at all, except for a few patches of moon-like terrain. Do you have a fix for this?

Duh, strange.
Did you use the moon map script to generate this map. I have a perfect moon landscape.

Shqype - what Bob said. There is a Moon_map.py file in the download. Move that to the Public Maps folder and select Moon Map from the Map types when starting a Custom Game. That or you did some impressive terraforming! ;)

Try post 549. I uploaded via YouSendIt and you can download their tool that will enable you to restart if your connection fails. Hurry ---- it's only active for another couple of days. :p
