I honestly don't know if the changes will take affect or not. I don't think it will hurt an old save though. You can always start a new game. ;)

The Biodome and Bunker issue was addressed in the patch. I added some strategy and tips to let the player know that it's one or the other. Also, turn off the barbs if you'd like as they are tough.

Glad you're enjoying it. Please jot down any feedback so we can keep improving it.
 
ok im still not sure where to add the assets. replace the old assets file with it, or add it to it. thanks for the help. them nasty barbs arent that tough for rockinroger. lol ive just lost about 10 variations of the explorer so now i only send out my best units. its working but their movement is slowwww.
 
I can't get the skimmer/skiff/whatever that last one was to work!:confused: How do I build one? And why is judaism the only religion? why not either add other ones, change it's name to some "moon god" religion, or get rid of it? One more thing, everyone's able to walk on the dust seas within the borders of the colony I play, is this supposed to happen?
 
I started a new game following the recommended steps and got the screenless wonder again (see attached screen shot).

I then hit ALT-I and got no response. Still the screenless wonder! How am I supposed to colonize the moon now???

MODS present: Sevomod 2.3 (slightly personalized by me, mostly XML stuff)
Alerum's Unaltered Gameplay in CustomAssets (slightly personalized by me, mostly XML stuff)
Song of the Moon patched to 0.17

Ideas?

It looks like a bug it the python somewere. If you turn on python debuging int the civilization.ini file you should get an error explaining were the problem in the python is.
 
I turned on python debug (actually, I turned on every log there is =) and looked through the logs but couldn't puzzle it out. I'm a fuzzy, not a tech person, sorry to say...

There are a couple of lines that say screen off, but I have no idea what that's in reference to. I've uploaded the logs (zipped), the save game file for this test game and a screenshot.

Could anyone have a look at it and tell me if there's anything I can do about it? I really wanna colonize the moon.

This is the sign of a Python error in an interface event, with Python error reporting turned off. With it on, you'd have gotten a blue popup dialog telling you where the error took place. Usually, these sorts of errors come from load errors of source code, causing everything in the source file chain to not get loaded.

I can tell you that Song of the Moon *will not* work with any other mod, or at least not reliably. I do not anticipate expending any effort attempting to debug incompatibilities with other mods. We patch or replace just about every aspect of the game. I suggest you try removing anything you have added and temporarily pulling your other mods out of your Custom Assets folder before trying again.

I deleted my CustomAssets and everything is hunky dory. Uberthanks, and I'm off to colonize the moon.

I'm such a n00b that I thought loading a Mod superceded anything else... Apparently CustomAssets are relevant no matter what you play? Considering I have just discovered mods and stopped playing vanilla entirely, I won't need to use CustomAssets again... Thanks for the tip! You guys are amazing!

The skimmer units still aren't "in" yet. They're placeholders until we figure out what to do with them.

Judaism is the only religion because we haven't figured out what to do with religion, but when I deleted them all the game crashed. So I left the first one and removed the others. It is not a religios statement. :)

Dust seas shouldn't be traversable, but there was some problems with other variables and we had to toggle a boolean somewhere that now allows movement on certain dust seas. Honestly, now I don't remember what we toggled.....

Yep, just plop it right on top of the old Assets. You'll overwrite some files, but that's okay. :D
 
hey why is the patch not listed on 1st page? there is so many good mods it is easy to miss patches like this, thanks anyways.

So, any working downloads? How big is the file?

Gravity of Jupiter is "only" 2.54 times that of Earth. ;) The atmospheric pressure OTOH... (and especially on that "diamond" core :sad: )

Really? Whoulda thunk it, eh? Well, I'm still gonna go for it, whether my organs come out intact or not.
 
The "air" pressure increases in Earths' oceans every additional 90 meters or so, and those are only 11 km deep on it's deepest. Think how you would look after 70 thousand km of increasing atmospheric pressure on Jupiter. ;)

Two ideas.

1 - Is the Moon_map.py file in your Public Maps folder?
2 - Check custom assets. Someone else had troubles either on this page or the one prior and that solved it.
 
thanks, it was #1... I suspected it should be so, but I didn't find any instructions about it.
