The terrorist nuclear threat

Whats are the odds?

OK, for fun I will say your right Sidhe. :) Where are the tapes coming from and how long has he been dead? Not trying to poke at you, just curious.

Obviously, my stance is: We don't know WTH he is. So we distract the American public from how badly we are doing. We headline "Most wanted terrorist is found dead!" When that Al-Zequira(sp?) guy was found. I knew very little about this guy when it was announced other than the roadside bombings he did. Also, I beleieve that America was suppose to be out of there a long time ago according to our "Liberation Agreement" or translated "We're pissed, let us in. Agreement"

Even though I am against it, it is too late now. If we are going to stick our balls out, let 'em hang low I guess. Hopefully, for the troops' sake it will continue to stabilize a bit more.

Do you believe that terrorists will manage to detonate a nuclear device in a major Western city within the next 10 years?

If yes, why, if no, why;)

Nuclear weapons are hard to obtain, even from Russian stores, and much harder to manufacture. Al-Qaeda, with its dispersed, uncentralized structure, is unable to build a nuclear weapon, even if they bought enough fissible material. Only one thing is less likely - that Iran or other nuclear state would give them ready-to-use nuclear warhead.

So, I think they will try something else, maybe some sort of biological agent (Ebola would be very nasty, if they managed to infect few hundreds of people in a big city, for example through a suicide... disease carrier :) ) or chemical weapon. They may also use a dirty bomb, if they obtain enough higly-radioactive, easily dispersable material, possibly from Soviet era grain storage bunkers (they tried to irradiate their grain in order to kill the pests, it didn't work, of course, so they have left that radioactive stuff there with no protection).
