Plenty London chicken & kebab shops use styrofoam/polystyrene containers for takeaways. Now that I know how crappy they are, I'll have to factor this in to whether I eat takeaways or not...

They do? Most kebab here is in aluminium foil.

Yeah paper and aluminum. The styrafoam is probably more for hot soup or something

Polystyrene foam containers have become pervasive for take out food in this country because they maintain the temperature far better than most other materials and they are incredibly cheap. On the downside, they use up a lot of landfill.

Are we running out of landfill?
