Helmets for the King's Life Guard.

1. Simple helmet with a veil (I can adjust its level of transparency also).
2. Helmet that covers most of the face (this one had 2 visors, but I removed the one over his eyes).

Preferences anyone?

I'm personally leaning more towards #2.

I agree about #2. At civ scale you can't make out the veil well enough to tell what it is.

Someone should make a lego mod... thats what these units always remind me of.

I vote option two, as it looks better when he is tiny (although option one is better when he is big... ;p)

I'd go with the 2nd one. One a smaller scale the 1st one would look like one full helmet.

That's... interesting. Perhaps at that time RJ hadn't thought about the wolf thing? Or mabye it means something...

If the trollocs are a perversive creation of what's in the "Light", then there should be a few with wolf heads. Besides don't you think that there might be a darkfriend or two among the wolves. Sure if they were found out, they'd be ripped to shreds, by the rest of the pack....

a great helm is the name (yes a technical term!) for medieval helmets that enclose all of the face, with ionly small opening/slits for the eyes, and soem times little holes in the helmtet to make breathign easyer; but other then that a full helmet around the head

I think the veiled is more accurate to the books, but doesn't look as nice as the full helmet. I'll go with #2 in that regard.

I don't think so. The nearest I've seen of Darkfriend wolves are Shadowbrothers - Darkhounds. They're not even wolves though, they are BRED into the dark side!

I always go with accuracy, so I'm voting for 1, unless you can change the bottom half of 2 to have a bit more veil effect? Oh well, everyone else went for 2.

And as for the wolves question, it's impossible for there to be wolves who are darkfriends. As Vaerraent said, Darkhounds are the Shadow's Wolves, and they do share a single mentallity through wolf dreams, as well as their more localize mental communcations. If there were Darkfriends among the wolves, I don't think they'd be able to hide it.

I'm actually not a big fan of either at the moment. I'll probably keep searching for something better. But if I can't find anything, your opinions will help make the decision easier.

I say the viel. But I think you should make the viel more silky-transparent-white. Or perhaps just over the mouth and nose, instead of over the whole face.

I think what you have is fine for the level civ is played on, but if you arent satisfied thats your bean burrito.

The 2nd mask has been a bit of a pain in the butt with animation (poke through problems), so I've been kinda holding out for something better. I'll give the veil another shot, but I'd also like to try and find a better helmet to parent it to. I'm still holding out for that pointed helm.

I just thought I'd announce that I am beginning work on a Windfinder unit for the Ath'an Miere . It will have channeling attacks, and bombard fx. I welcome any and all suggestions, and advice. Just remember who's the one with Poser.
