Sounds like a good idea Takeno. ;)
KB just mentioned to me that he was going to pick up a (lotr) Ranger unit requested by mrtn, and offered to do a version to use as a Warder that has a somewhat transparent cloak. Needless to say, I was pretty excited.

I don't know about the animation for re-basing, I'd have to check it out. But having no animations for it (and for airdrop) has the unit just disappear and then reappear in the selected tile, which is satisfactory enough for me.

Not sure if there is an animation for rebase.

Transparent cloak? Awesome. I would have to grab that for my mod as well. :mischief:

I love that King's Life Guard, CamJH.

Having no animation is fine, I just thought it would be really cool to have the Asha'man stepping out of gateways :D . Of course, now that I think about it, I have no idea how you would set something like that up :mischief: .
Anyway, the ranger to Warder idea sounds great. :)

:bump:

Seriously though, what I posted for was to show this, a map of Randland that I made back before I joined the site. It doesn't have the Aiel Waste, Seanchan, Shara, or the Land of Madmen, but it does provide a closer and more detailed view of the main area.

I've got a couple mace & martel props lying around, but I'm planning on using them along with some battle axes for Trolloc units coming up. I'd be ok with using one of them for this unit, but it might not be good to have them carrying the same weaponry as the shadowspawn. Plus, I've already got him fitted with a shield and spear. :p

I'll probably darken the grey on the shield to add a little more contrast, but other than that I'll probably keep as is.

Holy crast! These spearmen look very, very, veryvery good!

I don't remember if anybody has yet worked on leaderheads. When someone does let me know. I've done the leaderhead icons for the foreign advisors tab on the StarTrek mod. I'd be willing to give it a go for the WoT mod, but I have to have the leaderheads first including the various moods....
I can't create the leaderhead, but I can do some of the other leaderhead related images or at least try to...

@Tzar Sasha, right now I am waiting on some props from Kinboat before I get to work on a unit I'm planning, but afterwards I'd like to try out LH creation. The only hitch is that I have no idea where to begin :mischief: . If you know of a good tutorial on the site for creating animated LHs, please post a link. If not, I just have to puzzle it out myself :D .

Is no one going to comment on my map? ;)

I'm sorry I think I've forgotten something... What props? I can't for the life of me recall.

Whoops! Not props, clothing  . Over in your thread with your paperdoll and other Poser stuff I asked if you could do a sleeveless blouse and pair of pants for me, and you said that you working on a blouse already and could make the sleeves removable, and that the pants were in the works :) . Sorry if I misunderstood :D .

Looks gold, Cam. The spears great, I just wanted to see something besides longswords, that's all. I agree on increasing the darkness on the shield, but also consider it on the helmet as well, to distiguish it from his face more clearly. Nice Pantelones.

Sorry I don't know of any tutorials. Perhaps you could talk to one of the better known leaderhead makers out there...

EDIT: I found this tutorial. I don't know if it will help you or not. Leaderhead tutorial

Okay, I'll comment. It looks good. However, CamJH has already made the map that they are planning on using. Perhaps, it could be used for a scenario or two once the first mod is finished. But don't take my word for gospel. I'm just a silverpike in the water right now. There are bigger fish in control of this thing....

I know about the other map, I just thought I'd show this anyway. After all, I did spend all that time on it :D .

Thanks about the tutorial :) .

Takeno, your map looks better than the one I made myself. Mine stunk and I trashed it for the one for this mod. ;) and then played the WH mod on it. :crazyeye:

EDIT: I love the new avatar CamJH.

I'm really diggin Kinboat's new avatar also. Not exactly sure what's to come of it, but it looks cool. :)

The map does look good Takeno. Did you use a program like BMP2BIC, or did you put it together from scratch? The global map that I did last must have been like the 4th map that I made for WoT. :) Think I made a normal size from scratch, normal size with B2B, giga size with B2B, and the finally the global map with B2B. I think each one got better as they progressed, but man I wanted to take a break from map making when I finished the last one. What size is your map? The only critique I have is one that I got quite a bit with my earlier maps, and that's to add a little bit more of variety. It's not always an easy balance maintaining accuracy and variety, but you can always claim artistic lisence. ;)

I think I was getting a little tired of creating only sword units too, so I went with the spear. Plus I didn't think Tarabon needed 2 sword bearing units. I appreciate the compliments though. I'm hoping to get it wrapped up this weekend, but my workload might bounce it to next week.

TJ, do you mean you played WH on the global? How did it play? I'm curious.

I actually made the map from scratch, since at that time I had no idea you could do it any other way. As to the variety, I know I can come up with something ;) . The size is 199 height by 189 width.

Yup, that's the one. Actually quite well. I tried to place the civs in places that would relate to WoT. It turned out really good if I say so myself. Randland was crowded of course though, but I populated it with extra resources to make the cities there bigger and more productive to balance the smaller space they had. Did a little bit of work, but it turned out great in the end. I was thinking of a similiar thing for my Mystara mod by using other fantasy maps, including Rhye's Earth, and making scenarios with them. I love doing that.

:bump: I just couldn't let the thread fall into the abyss of Page 2. ;)

I thought of another unit idea, a Legion of the Dragon unit. It would attack first with a crossbow, then use a short sword, sort of like how the Civ3 Conquests guerrila attacks. If you guys think it sounds OK then I will plan on doing it after I finish the Windfinder.

Sounds cool to be and would be quite different. Could even have defensive bombardment.

:bump:

This is to find out whether anyone has started on some Seanchan units yet. I will be happy to do some myself, but right now I am just trying to get the Windfinder to work :p . CamJH has done the Aiel and plenty of Randland units, but there has been practically no talk about the Seanchan. Please understand, I'm not trying to seem ungrateful or a complainer. It's just that the Seanchan have what will make some of the coolest units in the mod, and I can't wait to get my hands on them. :D
