TheConglomerate is a mega merge of three main mods: WolfRevolution, which itself contains RevolutionDCM and Wolfshanze Mod, Mastery Victory Condition, which overhauls the victory system in BtS, and JARM, a mostly modular component that has been integrated into TheConglomerate to flow better then it would in a purely-modular format. In addition there are a few minor tweaks and adjustments I have added or changed.

You can download TheConglomerate here.

Current Version: 1.00

----------------------------------------
WolfRevolution greatly expands gameplay. You get huge improvements to the Industrial Era in units, promotions, buildings, etc, along with beautiful new ethnic graphics. It also has the awesome altering effects of Revolutions, dynamic borders, barbarian cites spawning into new civilizations, etc. It's an excellent mod.

The Mastery Victory Condition is a special mod that overrides and disables all other victory conditions. However, if you want the A.I. to function correctly you must leave all other victory options enabled. If you disable one of these, it will still count toward the Mastery Victory, but the A.I. will not know how to achieve points in that category. Instead of having players achieve a victory like in vanilla BtS, there are no 'victories' in MVC. Instead, how you play throughout the game accumulates points in various categories. You get points for building(not capturing) wonders, spreading a religion(if you control the Holy City), controlling more land/population, etc. Throughout the game your achievements will net you several poitns here and there, which begin to add up. At the end of the game(2050 AD) the civilization or team with the most points win.

JARM adds seven new religions to the game. Four are used directly in TheConglomerate. The other three are still in-game, but are disabled. Because this is still around 80% modular, you can enable or disable things at will, or edit whatever you please.

Hehe, let's see, RevDCM is a merge of Revolutions (With Better AI and unoficial patch), BUG, and DCM; WolfRev is a merge of Wolfshanze and RevDCM, and Now this is a merge of WolfRev and Jarm and Master...

So this is a 3rd Generation merge! Pretty cool.

Since you know C++, any chance you'd be interested in adding Assimilation to the RevDCM, or WolfRev core? I'd like to add these options to WolfRev, but haven't dabbled in C++. I'm only really able to dabble with Python, and usually have to ask for help when I do.

Quick questions; how is a Mastery Victory different from a regular Time Victory (highest score at 2050?)

can Mastery Victory be disabled if it turns out one doesn't like it?

Would it be possible to have more than four extra religions enabled at one time?

What seem to be the effects of having more than seven religions in game (especially regarding the AI)?

Wow those mods just get bigger and bigger, like a snowball becomes an avalanche.

Does the dll for this mod include support for bigger than huge maps and 30 + civs?

Can i use the dll as a basis for my own mod?

I could probably merge Assimilation in, but I would like to make it a toggleable game option since it drastically alters gameplay. It would take quite a while to do, but I'll look into it.

A Time Victory depends on your civilization's score, which is very dynamic and fluctuates a lot, making it unstable. Your civilization's score is also dependent on how powerful your civilization is right there and then. Mastery Victory keeps track of how you've played throughout the entire game. For example, if you had a pathetic Power Score throughout the entire game, but around 1950 AD you suddenly militarized and escalated to a giant military power, your Power Rating would still be very low despite the fact you are now a superpower(due to the history of your civilization).

In short, Mastery Victory is much, much more balanced then Time, and it flows much better. It also allows civilizations to compete in more ways, since your Time Score is dependent on only three factors, while your MVC points are based on over 10 factors. If you don't like MVC, you can simply turn it off in the custom game screen or CivilizationIV.ini

Regarding the new religions, they work very well with the A.I., however it may require a bit of tweaking to suit your preferences(which is why I left it mostly modular). I tend to play Large and Huge maps. Extra religions are an excellent feature on these games. On Standard maps, they still work okay, but things might get a little clustered. If you play Small or Duel maps, you might want to disable some or all of the religions.

The .dll includes support for up to 50 civilizations. However, unless you know your computer can handle that, I recommend running much less then that. Even if it can, I would recommend running no more then 30 at startup, because one of the key components of Revolutions is adding new rebel or minor civilizations to the game throughout history, but this can't happen if all the slots are filled up.

You are more then welcome to use the CvGameCore.dll for your own mod, just remember to give credit where it is due(not just me, everyone who worked on the components in this mod).

Assimilation is not that hard to merge, considering what you've already done it's easy work. By default, it is an option found under the usual list of options before the game is generated. I've succefully merged it into Merged Mod, so you can do it as well! :)

Really? Hmm... in that case, I might try for it this week... How hard would it be to tie this into civics? For example, a civilization running Police State and Nationalism would get only it's UUs and UBs, but a civilization running Universal Suffrage and Free Speech would get the other civilization's UU and UB... Sort of a tolerance of other cultures.

Had some reports of diplomacy bugs in 1.2.1, so I rebuilt it from scratch. No C++ changes so should be fairly easy to update.

I'd like to try this, but every time I start a new game, I either get a completely black screen with "10 turns of universal peace" in the upper right and something about a map in the upper left, or a game with no interface. Is there something I'm missing?

I tried installing the bug mod 3.5.1 but no change...

Hmm... That's odd. I haven't received any reports about diplomacy bugs... It shouldn't be to hard to update, but it will probably have to wait till after Christmas.

How are you starting a game? Is it through the Custom Game screen or Play Now!? If it's through Custom, then check to see if Advanced Start is on... If it is, tyr turning it off. I have no clue why it would cause any problems, but that's the only thing I know of that has 10 turns of peace.

Also, you might want to go into My Documents\My Games\Beyond the Sword and open up the CivilizationIV.ini file. Enable the python logging option, then play another game. If you get the same problem, zip up your logs folder in My Documents\My Games\Beyond the Sword then post it here so I have have a look at it.

Custom game with Advanced start results in the black screen, Play Now! with default options results in the no interface. Here is a screen:

I enabled logging and zipped the logs, you can get them here: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?iddjegngmym
Thanks for your help! Let me know if you need anything else!

Onionsoldier-

Unforunately, the uninstall/reinstall didnt work. Once I get into the game, there are no menus on the bottom. The "options" dialog box wont come up either. Anyways, I took your advice and turned on logging and zipped my results. If you have a spare moment, you mind looking at it and tell me what I need to do? Thanks again for all your help!

Alright, it looks like you're both getting the exact same python error. It seems that the game can't load CvEventInterface.py for some reason, though I can't figure out why. You might want to check if you have anything in your CustomAssets folder in MyDocuments\MyGames\Beyond the Sword, and if you do, delete it. Aside from that, I don't really know... I'll have to look at the logs more closely when I'm less busy.

Oops, I guess I should have read the post above me. Yes, Im getting the same exact problem. I did have folders in the Custom folder and deleted them. Still getting the same issue. Thanks in advanced!

After further investigation, seems I'm having this problem in EVERY mod... Not sure what happened all of a sudden... I'm going to try a reinstall and will let you know if that worked...

Save yourself the trouble :crazyeye: I dont think it will work. I uninstalled "everything" and even tried installing into a diff folder. I got the same result
