I like the crossbowman too - except for the helmet. I think that just doesn't fit well. I'd prefer some sort of hat or nothing instead of that helmet.

And I agree with mrtn: I'd like to use it too in the WH-mod, should it be provided with good (=sufficient :p ) animations. And I also agree on the civ-colour issue: the thin blue stripes are a bit too thin IMO for civ colouring. The other leg would propably be better for it :)

I fear they are too thin to make really good civ colour. I suspect there will be fringe effects, that it will flow into the white.
Yes it is too thin. You could sorta make it work by making the 2nd color a lighter shade of blue. But, even then it would be too thin and might seem to flicker. Better would be either nice fat stripes like this:

although, I have the shades of blue slightly too close and at civ scale it doesn't appear as striped as I was hoping.
Solid colors are easiest... for example, like changing the peasent hood to civ color... or the belt on the barbarian fella

Also, I agree with Aaglo that the helmet on the crossbowman is not ideal. A crossbowman should have a very open helmet so he can see better.

mrtn: did you see these effects on Kinboat's Landskneckt, which this model is based on ? BTW I'll follow your advice on the civ-coloured leg, I like it :)
@aaglo: you're right. I'll take it off. I just had put it on every Empire unit to make it easier (I'm too lazy ;) )
@Bjornlo: thanks for the pitchforks, I'll try them. Did you put them on the paperdoll page ?
Thanks to everybody for comments. Just one thing about the crossbowman: if someone had a good crossbow for the paperdoll, it would replace the one I use which has textures on it and isn't fully animated (I just noticed it)

PS: I didn't get the pun :( my english is too poor... if someone could explain by PM, I would love him ;)

Kinboat didn't use blue as civ colour, he used the light green in the feather. And if you want those stripes to remain blue you must use a non-blue civ colour too.

No I did not put the pitchforks on the paperdoll page, they are just attached to the message a few back.
The pun, such as it was, well replace fork with otherwords that fit the f**k format until you feel like slapping the poster.

   ooh ok understood. My suggestion about the paperdoll page was to put stuff there as much as possible so that every unitmaker noob could get it all at once without wandering around this huge forum... or the whole net...

There's another twist to the pun though... and it doesn't take it to the realm of ... (well, you know). This is an actual quote from an American TV series (either the Simpson's or King of the Hill), where the protagonist visits a farmer relative who is adamant about putting him to work, wielding the ever present pitchfork for motivation. ;)

Don't you wear your cuirass bare chested, Stormy?

@ TO PROP-MAKERS - can someone please, please do something about that "cuirass" thing, it leaves the model wearing it totally bare-chested, doesn`t really make much sense.
huh?? Why do you care what your little dude wears under his armor. And what is top stop someone from also putting a shirt on his dude if he cares?
