Germans; At beginning of game they are always huge. Then they pick a war with the English or French and get allied against and wiped off the map.

French; Always seem to take the most advantage from a war, usually grow very large civs.

America: Always gets left behind, I never see a successful America civ.

English: Are decent size until getting wiped out totally by French or Persians.

Zulus: Always have a huge empire and a huge military. Always attacks me when it has a chance.

Aztecs: Always have a big lead in the beginning until going to war, usally with Persians and then get left behind.

Babylonians: Always get killed off early.:egypt:

Thats about all I notice about when the AI is a civ. Post some patterns that you tend to see with the AI.

Agree totally about the Germans and the Zulu, but the Americans are generally fairly powerful (I tend to like big continents or pangea so the expansionists always do fairly well) and are my main rivals usually.
English - never do anything in my games
Babylon - if they are near they always attack as soon as Bowmen are available.
Persia - Immortals.... love to be 'em, hate to fight 'em (and I usually do).
France - are always way behind in the Tech race as they seem to always end up on a tiny island separated from everyone else by miles of ocean.
Chinese - as per the French.
Rome - never, ever, ever manage to make it big. They are nearly always the weakest civ - how ironic.
Greeks - I've never seem them initiate a war, maybe because they know their hoplites are poor attackers.

My vehement disagreement with most of your observations should be noted ;)

The only constant trend I can expect starting up a new game is Greece rushing out in front immediately and grabbing a lot of early wonders before being reeled back in by the pack.

Oh, and Shaka relentlessly licking my boot as he begs for mercy around 1000BC...

Don't forget that the geography of each starting location also affects the way the AI civ acts, and how well-off they are.

I've never seen any constant trends at all (apart from what is affected by aggression level).

Typically, France gets the Great Library unless they are in a really bad spot, and the are fast in tech even then. Makes them go extinct soon - somehow they are always my No. 1 target..... :D :mwaha:

India: Gandhi is a slimy, slinking, cheating arrogant bastard! ALWAYS!!!!! Prime warmonger, but not honest like Bismarck. Backstabber, he is. Die India Die! (the gmae one, not the real one - to clarify for all a**holes out there)

Persia and Greece always ready to go to war with little or no provocation.

Germany either a good ally or a backstabber depending on location.

Zulu - tend to go to war early and get beaten back - do not seem to build much infrastrucure - raods/rails/irrigation.

English - either declare war or become gracious (much like France)

at least that is what usually happens in my games!

:) :) :)

Haven't noticed much by any else civ's than France, which always seem's to **** me at the late game

The only trend I normally notice is the expansionist civs (normally Russia and America) being great powers due to expansion (as you would expect eh?).

Don't see any other discernible trends (apart from sh1t performance from the Romans in every game I've played).

all industrious civs usually do very well...America, Egypt, France, Persia and China.

map size and type will determine whether expansionist civs compete well or fail miserably.

the improvement to the commercial trait might now alter the typically poor performances of the English and Romans?!

a lot depends on the civilisation build preferences that each civ has under the civilisation tab in the editor. You'll notice there that the Zulus and Romans have mainly militaristic preferences and that might explain why they are rarely able to keep up mid-late game.

Russia is poor and dumb (ehh, in the game I mean. Nice bear, nice bear.. it's a good bear isn't he!)

Xerxes. Man I dislike him. He's out to get me. I got home late last night, and thought I would get in the turns to start a new game, Emperor level. I sent out my first warrior to begin scouting, and two Persian spearman came rolling along. I had a second warrior back in my city for defense and to keep a citizen happy. Bam, Xerxes' two spearmen charge in, poof! Game over in 3100 BC or so.

Joan is usually my buddy, Russia is the one that always demands something from me early in the game. I don't forget that and 200 years later I'll crush Cathy.
